Mines, a lot of air cover, plenty of small fry on patrol... and from my experience no special pickings unless you go harbour raiding. And that feels unrewarding if you take pot shots at stationary tragets from 10km away (would this have been possible irl?) and foolhardy if you try to do it properly.

Πρέπει να περάσεις τα στενά του Καλαί και εκεί θα τα βρείς σκούρα

Translation
You have to pass through the Calai strait and things there are though.
The RAF is always dangerous and the waters in the Channel are heavily mined by both sides. There are also very shallow.

I think you will reconsider now.

They call it the ENGLISH Channel for a reason. They mined the Calais-Dover pass very heavily. Yes, there was German convoy traffic close to the French coast at night, and it was intercepted constantly by the British MTBs, leading to terrific battles between them and the Schnellboote. Unfortunately "close to the French coast" is also very shallow water, with nowhere for a u-boat to hide. The Channel was the most dangerous place for a u-boat, and very few, if any, ever went that way.

But why?I mean when France falls, why not sale as close as possible to the french coast (like 3-4 kms)?Royal navy wont be a threat and even RAF will have trouble by the Luftwaffe...
Because even if you stay as close as possible to the French coast, you are still really, REALLY close to the English one.

But the most important is you are really really close to their food.
Avoid that under any circumstances, because Baked beans and Black pudding
can really shorten your live.
