I need them. Or give me bombers that can shoot to different angles as the SB2 cant shoot directly behind it. Not very fun just sit on the arses of the bombers whole mission, having a wank with one hand and shooting them down with the other. Booooriiing.

Nothing challenging in climbing to occasionally 4000+ meters and then trying to catch them with a plane that hardly goes 300km/h with the bombers flying 300-350km/h.

1/12/1939 16:00

Today's task was to attack an supply convoy in the area of Terijoki. We soon had to forget our original target as around half way there, we came upon 6 SB-2 bombers flying very low over the Gulf of Finland. Not much to say about it, as usual I chose the #2 as my target. We had both speed and altitude on our side, the bombers had no changes at all. The first pass blew something off from the tail of the bomber and it wildly spiraled to the ground.

That was my only success with the bombers, I did damage one, but my flight leader claimed it eventually. Hardly a minute after the last bomber was downed, 4 I-16's flew from the east directly to our position. Again, we had every advantage possible, so there was little if none fighting involved. Drag & bag tactic was successfully used against the I-16's. Our #3 dragged 2 of them, while me & the captain dived on them. First pass most propably killed the pilot, as the I-16 just "gave up" and flew straight to the ground.

Eventually, I managed to reach Terijoki and spotted the convoy traveling thru the town. I bagged one truck with the little ammo I had left.

Riiiight, 7 sorties in total and no AAR's because they all been the same "intercept SB2 going to point B". So, what I'm gonna do now is I go to my superiors, give them the finger and quit.

Stupid DCG.

Did the Sovs bother sending anything other than the odd token escort with their bombing raids??

does anyone knows how many aircrafts that you have to shoot fore a medal?
I'm playing the lenningrad campaign , started from the begin in lowest rank, i have 4 medals and just promoted to Oberst
105 flights done and 88 planes shot down.
I have the feeling with the AAA mod that the medals are hard to get:hmm:

I shot 3 down in my 1st mission = medal
I shot 2 down in my 2nd mission = medal

Dont know if the realism settings have any influence to it.

first medal you get with 2 kills second by the 4 kill the third maybe on the 10 kill im not sure, anyway i have right at least on a knightcross with swords and diamonds
