hello sub-mates, hoping for a bit of wisdom again..
I downloaded and installed SH3Commander 2.7 a week or so back, and it has been fine, though I don't always remember to go into the game that way and wonder if that matters. About the same time I downloaded JSGME and thought I had set it up right, but in fact I hadn't, and none of the mods were actually installed. Today I downloaded U.jagd 1.2 GWX, and in trying to get that installed, realised I hadn't done the job with JSGME, so added all the mods, including jagd. I also copied the latter into the MODS folder. When I next tried to run the game, whether through SH3 Commander or not, it crashed to desktop just after the load save screen, so you don't get as far as 'not so long ago', and the error message identifies simdata.dll as the culprit. I think it highly likely that the culprit is not some poor innocent library file, but ME, not reading instructions properly and poking things where they didn't oughta go. With no mods and no SH3Commander, the game runs fine, but others can have them on so I think I ought to be able to enjoy them as well So, I have rolled back and uninstalled SH3Commander, but can't find an uninstaller for JSGME. I want to clear out the MODS file in the SH3 folder ( not the GWX one of course) - can I do that? and is there anything else I should do so as to be as sure as I can that it is all going on properly when I reinstall Commander and the modder utility? - apart from RT(ahem)FM as someone suggested in another place and on a different matter ![]() |

Having recently fubar'd my own game i can associate lol.
1st steped probably missed was rolling back SH3Commander before adding or subtracting any mods but since you have your stock version working you are well on your way to recovery. The steps i took were to get the game running, bring it up to 1.4, installed gwx, installed the 1.03 mod. Installed jsgme 1.7 installed sh3 commander and the files into its config folder for gwx then i used jsgme to install the mods i wanted then refired up the game and all works well. Hope that helps |
