Hi Frinik,
At the lower levels of difficulty, I have given the player an extra squad and / or a platoon of Pz II in the village, to delay the Soviets a little. At the higher levels of difficulty, I hope I built in some tactical decision-making, whether to finish dealing with the 'diversion' or to move out and head off the 'main force'. About my games! I've played 'IL-2 Sturmovik' and its many sequels for a couple of years. All off-line. Before that was 'Red Baron 3D' I also recall playing 2 tank sims, 'Panzer Elite' and 'Panzer Commander', which in some ways, esp. their campaigns, have not yet been surpassed by newer sims. Wargaming: Spent a lot of time on the "Combat Mission" and "Close Combat" series, and before that was 'Steel Panthers'. Other games still residing on my hard drive are 'Civilization III' and 'Commandos 2'. (Yes, these are not the latest 'versions') Things I look forward to trying, when time permits, are 'Panzer Command Kharkov' and 'Achtung Panzer Kharkov 1943' Do you see a pattern there?? Regards, |

Games
Do I see a pattern
Yes ! You like computers!!! I also play Panzer Elite with PE 3( I agree its the mother of all modern tank sims and unequalled in many respects) Gamesand TvsT with ZeeWolf's mods. Never played Panzer Commander although I have the demo of the game. I have Blitzkrieg II , Soldiers Heroes of WWII and Codename Panzers Phase I, II, II and Cold War.I have IL2 but it's my 2 young sons who love that game and play it( 4 1/2 and 6 1/2 years old if you can believe it) Do you see a pattern in my tastes??? Well not so fast cause I love Need for Speed in its various incarnations just to relax after wrecking so much armour. Cheers PS I have a mission to email you a real blast so-to-speak |

Hi Frinik,
Did you finally manage to ace the mission? Don't know whether it's possible or not, it is called 'impossible' for a reason, Anyway, that would be the signal to unleash the 3rd one on the world |

Impossible is Impossible!
Hi Kyth! NO lack of time, social and family obligations prevented me frorm having that pleasure. However, rest assured that impossible does not exist in my dictionary.I shall tackle and succeed and take a snapshot to prove it!
Please release the next mission. Cheers Frinik |

Hi, here's my 3rd mission,
Hi!
Here's the 3rd mission, which follows on after the events in mission 2: Kyth Mission 3 The encircled defenders have hung on grimly for the past 2 days, throwing back repeated assaults on their positions. Now, can they hold on for much longer? ... Make sure that they do! The mission can be downloaded here: http://www.4shared.com/file/uOzbSWOe/KythMission03.html And, please add this extra line to the 'user_camp.engcfg' file: New_KY_03, txt_mc_mymission_3, 1, 0, Back_KY03.tga, txt_cit_02, 20, txt_history_tky_1, hist_map_teach, levels\levels\cm_users\New_KY_03.level; Thanks, and have fun! |

The Kyth of Death!
Great n ews Kyth and thanks! Still haven´t won your second mission....Either victim of friendly fire or just too many damned KVs .It goives a good idea of the quandary that faced the Panzerwaffe in summer and autumn 1941.
Just downloaded your 3rd will try it out asap and report. Cheers |

About the 2nd mission,
Hi Frinik,
You may want to try a tactic which may be historical, that is to shoot out the enemy's guns if they are close enough, The darkness and cover work in favour of the little Panzer III's, so sneak in close and blast away! Last edited by Kyth; 12-04-10 at 11:36 PM. Reason: Helpful tips |

Hi, here's the 4th mission,
Hello again!
Here's the 4th mission, which follows the events of mission 3: Kyth Mission 4 The enemy is planning another of their pre-dawn attacks. Your kampfgruppe's task is to launch a pre-dawn attack on the pre- dawn attackers! Just don't let them pre-empt your pre-emptive strike... Please download the mission here: http://www.4shared.com/file/FORxPxHZ/KythMission04.html And also, please add in this extra line to the 'user_camp.engcfg' file: New_KY_04, txt_mc_mymission_4, 1, 0, Back_KY04.tga, txt_cit_02, 20, txt_history_tky_1, hist_map_teach, levels\levels\cm_users\New_KY_04.level; Be careful with this one, there's a lot of maneuvering! |

Hi,
Time to take stock of the situation. I hope I have addressed some of the shortfall in Steel Fury, that is, lack of missions / campaigns for the overlooked and underrated Panzer III, and the tactical possibilities of unfavourable lighting and weather. Is it a good idea to continue in this vein? Comments are welcome! |

Hi,
Thanks for the vote of confidence And don't worry, we will find a way to get you the Panzer IV in this campaign, as soon as it can fit into the 'storyline'. As you can see, there is a sequence of events here in the little Panzer III before the bigger stuff shows up... No way I will put anyone in a Panzer II in these missions, they would be very short indeed... |

Panzer II
Kyth I meant the Panzer II C in a support role not necessarily as the player´s tank. Also it depends you can always make missions with light SOv tanks the T60s, BT5 and 10 , infantry, mgs and ligh AT guns against Panzer IIs, IIIs, APCs etc....
The Panzer II is quite good against infantry, MG nests and light tanks. Anyway whatever you make I take! |

Okay, point taken
The thing about variety is, it's not always visible, being somewhere else on the battlefield. Too bad there's no playback feature ;like there is in IL-2. Then I could post a compilation video of 'My Greatest Battles' or something |

Videos killed the Radio
We 're thinking along the same lines.I really lament the fact that you cannot make a video of one's favorite missions....Some real intense moments that you'd love to share with others on Youtube!
Unless you put videocam next to you or get a volunteer to stand behind you and shoot it while you shoot tanks... Speaking of cam do you have the free cam mod installed Kyth? I have it and despite follozing the instructions I have never been able to make it work!!Any tip? |

Hmm about the free cam I remember Rends had a question about it too. There's some useful information here:
http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.ph...ml#Post3071390 I'm not sure if he got it working after that, |
