That whale doesn't look happy, a smiling whale would improve the pic... but very cool anyway.

Went out in March '42 to the east coast of Honsho.
11 dud torps in my bow tubes alone. That's all I have to say.

It's early days, so I'd get on the suface and SHELL them! Very few merchants have guns at this stage, I found it was often the only way to be sure of a kill. I save the 20mm AAA for the sampans and aim for the waterline. There are enough single ships to make it worthwhile, but watch out for the Japanese air force! (esp. in TMO!) I used to play fleet boats with auto targetting and it drove me crazy. I find it a lot easier in a v1.5 U boat where I can fiddle with the settings on the attack map, even if I have auto targetting on.

August 41, based in Lorient (TMO, OM, RSRD) Type IX
Seems the Brits have wised up and there are very few single ships to sink. I seem to find convoys right in the middle of huge seas and clear skies, meaning the torps won't work but if I duke it out with the 105 mm I get nailed by corvettes. I was a little suprised to sneak through Gibraltar without any interference and thought I'd sneak a peak at the anchorage. One lone Dido class sitting at anchor, no nets, no mines (that I could see anyway). Might as well push my luck, so after sinking a few dozen fishing boats who foolishly decided to fish the waters off Tripoli (hey, I got points for them so don't knock it) I "snuck" into Alexandria after sinking the lone tugboat on patrol. OMG! A whacking great load of freighters, with 2 BB's, 1 CA and 4 DD's at anchor. I had to go back out to reload the externals and when I got back, they'd respawned! Six DD's, 2 CA's and a BB (damned thing took six hits) and a motley assortment of freighters. I single handedly changed the balance of naval power in the Med! The Italians could sortie from Taranto! The Africa Corps could be resupplied with impunity! QUICK! Get to open sea and SAVE THE GAME! Which I did, but when I loaded it again....CTD. No problem, just try it again.....no huge fleet, Gibraltar was crawling with DD task forces now and nothing to be found in the Med except fishing boats and coastal freighters. Got nailed by a DD taskforce on the way back out. I'll stick to open seas and Portugeuse fishing boats for a while.....looking forward to "Happy Time Mk II" off the US coast!

I was gonna use it as my new sig but then had to realize that it has too much height and would take up too much space ...

Gunfighter, I really love what you did there. Think you could shrink it down to sig size and make the saying say this:
Yea Though I Sail Through The Sea Of Death I Shall Fear No Evil For I am The Deadliest Shark In The Sea If you wouldn't mind whipping that up for me, it'd be apprectiated.
Nice job either way.
