Sorry, was a bit of a hasty reply, but I guess you figured it.
Really if you can map all the controls listed under the HOTAS section in the setup thingy, you can fly the hog from wheels up to aproach without ever taking your hands off the controls. Even key MFCD manipulation (content, SOI) can be manipulated with the HOTAS functions. Only reason I ever release the stick is to arm the gun, adjust weapon profiles or tinker with the TGP image. X-52 "only" has 3 hats, so I'm using 2 different modifiers. Bit tricky to remember 3 different functions for each hat, but after a while muscle memory takes over.

I assume for cockpit builders it is a dream to have each and every function linkable to a keyboard command like this. But I do not build cockpits.

http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.ph...1570/test.html I can't imagine that they will simulate Vikings, Seakings or HawkEyes. And although the Tomcat would be nice to be the hero of their next release, fact is that that thing is dead since long.

Ditto! Multirole over the 'I'll shoot you down 50 miles away and not even see the explosion' Tomcat! Or Hornet!
I can imagine myself VIFFing as Raptor goes past in even more fury than normal... ...before I select the wrong something, stall and plummet to earth in a rapidly disintegrating airframe, ejecting and only just remembering in time to press PrintScn in time to once again catch my demise. That is if I can get off the ground to start with...!

Er, any fixed wing US they drag into it is gonna have the AIM-120, even the Harrier. Only thing that varies with the models is the number carried.
Would like either Harrier or Hornet, gimme some strike capability compared to just "my plane is better than yours".

That's about right, I'm sure Hunter's doing similar in the Med!

Would be nice if the next DCS is the F-35 and it's many variants, but I sadly don't see that coming.
I'd gladly purchase the F/A-18, wonder if it would be the Hornet or the Super Hornet. Either way, the thought of 228 m/s climbs and Mach 1.8 speeds compared to the 30m/s and 300knot speeds of the A-10c will gladly be accepted. If it is either Hornet, I hope they have the 2 seat variants also so you can fly co-op.

Still hoping against 2-seaters. Hopping seats is just another hassle in an already complex machine, and I don't trust the AI to fly with me.
2-seaters are nice for MP, but only MP imho.
