I guess on the finals everyone should just try to get his aircraft down without following instructions too closely. Landing approaches are usually done pretty individually so that my throttle settings might not work for anyone else (also depends on how much you pull your nose up etc.). So just try to keep the same distance and set her down gently no matter what the leading twat yells.
