How can i check if RSRD is enabled? I'm using RFB2.0 and have the feeling it is not installed (using JSGME) properly... for example the name Iwo Jima is not shown on the map, I thought it was. Also the missions seem to be non RSRD ("patrol area" instead of "patrol for x hours within x nm of given point")

Also it says Jayapura where it should say Hollandia, is this fixed in RSRD?

cheers and happy hunting!

ps.: Clean SHIV install with only RFB2.0 and RSRD JSGME-wise enabled...came from TMO1.9

Make sure the path you have in is MOD/RSRD/DATA and not MOD/RSRD/RSRD/DATA.

A couple of weeks ago I finally got my gaming computer and am running TMO with RSRD. I am having a great time and think RSRD is a superb mod for TMO. I just wanted to drop by and thank everyone who worked on it. I really like SH4 now. It's great!

(professor farnsworth voice) Good news everyone! I found that my main issue was I was getting bad downloads that were incomplete.

I occasionally still get a ntdll.dll or sound.act crash but i think that is because of time compression as I rush toward land. Thoughts?

However I noticed I have no sub tenders anymore and no ability to start at the tender with RSRDC. It is fine with TMO but as soon as RSRDC goes in, I lose the bases. I don't know if this is a bad download or not. The 7z size does not match the size listed in the DL section. I have 73.21 Mb listed as my file size when 76 is listed. I tried downloading the file 4 separate times each time when the file starts downloading it shows 73.2 Mb. It is the only file between all 4 (TMO, TMO patch, RSRDC, RSRDC patch) that does not match the listed file size.

Thanks for all the help!

Regards sh4 fan

Does this work with the GFO mod, IE the Game Fixes Only mod? And if not, could someone post a link of the latest compatible release?

Yes but be sure to also use the GFO patch for RSRD

Default crash

i just insatlled rsdc on a previously modded version of sh 4 1.5
I use jsgme to manage my mods so with the others disabled its pretty much like an unmodded game, and i was in the museum going through units and it randomly crashes, also their are a number of ships that are all black as if they were sillutoes

Default Dec 1941 Cam Rand Bay Convoys

Hi Luker, I am enjoying you RSRDC mod. in both RFB 2.0 and TMO 1.9. I read in you notes that the modified campaign layers in the game do not start until early 1942. So what I found in 1941 may not apply.

I started a campaign on Dec.8, 1941 from Manila in a Sargo (Sailfish) class boat. First assignment was to Patrol Indochina sea routes off the coast of Indochina for 150NM radius. The area includeed Cam Ranh Bay. Looking at your convoy documents, Cam Ranh Bay was a hot bed for activity in December 1941 in preperation for the invasion of Malaya. Proceeded to Cam Ranh Bay arriving about 2100 on 12 Dec. Sighted a large convoy of 16 merchants and 6 escorts arriving from the south headed for CamRanh Bay. I managed to sink one murchant. I waited outside of the bay for a convoy to leave at 0830 on the 13th by your documents. No convoy left but a task force of 2 heavy crusiers and 2 BB with escorts came from the north about 1300. I sank one heavy crusier and the Task force went south.

I received a msg from TF3 N2 that a convoy may be at 110E 7 30N on 14 Dec.. Traveled south to 110E 7 30N at full speed. The task force of 2BB and one heavy cruiser arrived around 0800 on the 14th. sank a Konga BB that day. So SubComPac instructed me to return to my initial assignment.

I traveled back north to Cam Ranh Bay by 1000 on the 16th. A small convoy was returning from the south with merchants, troop carriers and one light crusier. It had one subchaser escort. Sank a merchant.

It appears to me in Dec.1941 the game has ships arriving at Cam Ranh Bay and none leaving. I should have seen a large convoy leaving Cam Ranh Bay by 1300 on 13 Dec. I am continuing on with the campaign. Thanks for your hard work. I sure wish we had a map that had the ports on it that are described in your documents. One more thing I did not read all of the readme files you provided.

The following mods are installed over a copy of SH4 WOP gold edition:
RFB 2.0
RfB Patch 06 Mar 2010
Hydrophone line extended
Realistic engine soundFX 0,9
RSRDC_RFB_575
RSRDC_VX5XX_PATCH 1
Map Labels 1.3

Default Where's the action...???

Been playing RSRDC +TMO, now on third patrol, can't find action anywhere, last 2 missions only found 2 task forces, 1 was borneo invasion force as recieved by radio message, other found by luck between borneo and celebes.
May be this mod is supposed to mimic historically, b ut where the realismn in having to follow conyvoy history pages... not like a time machine was avalible at the time... Was there no jap convoys not found by u.s. forced and reported???
OR am i looking in the wrong places? been cruising along trade lines in the south chinease sea mainly between indochina, borneo, malaysia and indonesia...

Many thanks..

If you came across two task forces in the same mission, then you were fortunate. That is an embarrassment of wealth from my experience.

As for the merchant men- sometimes you find them, sometimes you don't- they are generally out there, but finding them can be an elusive task. Try patrolling near the intersect points of trade routes.

If you get bored in looking along the trade routes and are feeling lucky- hang out around a harbor entrance... or just go right on in close and see how that works out for you. Dangerous, but productive.
