Wow...I finally seem to have the joystick just how I want it...will this effect my stall record? Probably not.
The reason I lifted flaps just before landing was to experiment on whether it would prevent the last minute lift I have if I've come in a little bit too fast which always makes me panic and either knock the nose down and plough or cut speed and smash my gear into the runway. I'll get it there, I just need to do a spot of practicing and now I (hopefully) have the joystick how I want it, it'll make flying fun again. Hopefully... |

That last minute lift is called ground effect. The best thing is to just keep a slight nose up attitude and to have a throttle setting that will decrease your speed slowly. With that you shouldn't climb too much when getting into the ground effect zone and the plane should settle down slowly (if you aren't way too fast on your approach of course).

I remember one time trying to land a He-111, the bugger wouldn't land with flaps on landing position. No matter how I wiggled the joystick the nose just wouldn't go down. (and yes, it was the right joystick )

Apply nose down trim and lift your flaps just before you hit the deck and you should be OK. The Me-232 Gigant is a bugger to land as well without bouncing and spinning all over the place.

Well, one could also try to do an approach that is not outlandishly too fast.

Question, what's the difference between the Ko and Otsu versions of the Ki-27?
Also, what planes do people want for a ground attack? Raptor, I gave you a later type of the I-16 which has bombs, and the 109s have bombs, it's just myself and Schroeder don't have the ability to carry bombs, but I'm happy to just strafe. EDIT: Oh, and has anyone seen this? |

EDIT: Hope the new P.11 damage model isn't as insane as the current one.

Hunter, one of the two survivors of the first attempt...barely. Spud does well in his 109, surviving to make it to the airfield intact. Only he and Hunter are so lucky. SECOND ATTEMPT Schroeder takes down a Ki-27. Not long afterwards one kamikazes him. I try to out turn a Ki-27, when that fails I try to out climb it, giving it just the opportunity it needs to put several rounds into me. I make it back to base however, and do a perfect Lolwaffle landing. Hunter takes down his last foe How bullet ridden...how Heineken The incredible VSTOL Ki-27. Baffling veterans of IL2 since 2010. |

Well, you guys did better than you think. There were about twelve Ki-27 and about four or five of them were aces, and about three were veterans.
Next time I'll leave them on regular. I just figured we might be getting a little too confident shooting down Ki-27s like clockwork. |
