@Tarjak, Nice screenshots mate!
@Xabbarus, Well, after we finished this one I might give it a go with operation barbarossa to see if that follows up the eastern maps like Poland does for the western maps. HunterICX

I would hate to be in charge of cleaning the flight deck of whatever carrier we would be assigned to

There's plenty of land based options too if carriers don't cut it. |

All those who are not familiar with carrier operations should play this training campaign.

We'll see about the pacific map, last time I played a pacific campaign with carrier aircraft I had to fly about 1 hour and a half just to get the to target zone .
I dont mind flying but thats a bit too much for the short nights we play. after this campaign is over I try some of the campaigns to see whats decent to do..I think we'll start with Pearl harbour. HunterICX

I'm pretty sure you can set the maximum distance to the target in DCG so we get missions that don't require hours of flying

This was rather close:
Oh, and for anyone that doesn't know, landing an F6F on a CVE is usually a bad idea...

It's always funny when you fail landing on a carrier. You bail out into the sea, and it steams right over your guy, killing him.

You have to practice those landings and after some time they won't be that hard anymore.
A tip is not to approach the carrier straight from behind all the way. Try it like this: It will allow you to look at the carrier for a long time while setting up your approach. You just line up with it at the very end of your approach. Doing that you avoid flying "blind" for a long time while the carrier is obscured by parts of the plane. Here a record of it (just put it into your Il2-1946 records file) Approach Some planes can even lift the pilot's seat (only with opened canopy) to give him a better view out of the cockpit during final approach. P.S. @Raptor The picture above proves again that I am the greatest artist on this planet.:rotfl: Last edited by Schroeder; 07-31-08 at 08:51 AM. |
