I'm not rushing in to the lion's den until I know that lion is a pussy cat and will not bite my backside off. I will make my mind up May 2016 but I am leaning towards not bothering as it stands at the moment.
Sod keeping up with the joneses.

Sorry I have to disagree.
I upgraded, use a local account instead of my Microsoft one. Edge is new and nothing to do with Metro. Metro isn't and OS but a design language and the name for the user interface that went into Windows Phones, and features of which are used in Windows 8/10 and on Windowsphones. Also it did not replace my default browser which is Firefox. Firefox was still there and working as my default. It is quite easy to turn off all the reporting back to Microsoft. So I don't get use of Cortana. Big deal, I have it on my phone and isn't anything to write home about. As for boot from CD\DVD, you always had to go into the BIOS from the beginning to select that. Not too difficult. There was a really good link in a different Windows 10 post giving some really good tips if you are worried about information being sent back and how to turn it off. The simple fact is Apple does the same with iOS and Google with android. Always check your settings prior to anything you do. |

Free W10 upgrade came through this morning but I've rescheduled the install for this coming Sunday to give me time to do a bit of researching on the OS.

Installed it last night with no problems. So far I've had to tweak a few of the sub game compatibility modes but everything still works OK.

I have Win X now and I'm not impressed. It seems like it has slowed my rig down. Especially the new browser. Where I got almost INSTANTANEOUS RESPONSE WITH wIN 8.1 and IE xx, now I find myself waiting seconds to change screens on this board. I'll still give it a chance though.
More later when I have the time.

I too had some problems with Microsoft Edge. They openly admit they are still working out the kinks in the new Browser. They also made it easy to back to IE, which is what I've done for the time being.
I'm also still using Classic Shell rather than the new Start Menu.

hey guys, I'm actually having trouble with sh3, whenever game gets done installing, I get an error message that gives me an error code, the code is 1628. The last time I installed I was able to get onto the game, but whenever I hit "exit game", it crashes out, and sh3 commander wont work, does anyone have a fix for this?
