Well... we had are a**es handed to us again...
1 mission, hunter died in the begining... And schroeder and I were being hunter by countless planes with more comeing... Soon I had gotten 5 of them, schroeder 4 and we were being chased to the frontlines... I dont know about schroeder but I counted over 8 enemy on my six, ripping me apart... I lost my ability to turn, and couldnt see out of my wind sheild... eventualy I had to ditch... so I emergency landed on a feild, and schroeder had a curcus at the base... the group chaseing me now was chaseing him!... He got down... Mission 2 we went to attack some enemy planes... in the end... 3 went 0 came back... Hunter first, then me... when I was trying for my 4 or 5th kill... and schroder gave in knowing his fate... in the end, we were ****ed again... youall will see what were dealing with friday... lol 3 planes V entire ruski airforce... set on what im guessing to be ace...

You have to love the AI. I couldn't outrun a LaGG3 in a 109F....
I think we definitely have to do something about balancing or we won't have much fun with this campaign. In the first sortie Task Force and I shot down 9 enemy planes and were still surrounded by plenty more of them. Our own AIs got butchered since they were heavily outnumbered too. Like that I don't think we will ever get near Stalingrad. On the other hand we can shorten the inevitable defeat and pull back to Berlin in mid 1942.

IL2 doesn't model the production quality, but still the AI no matter what aircraft cheats on you. Quote:
that there are some ACE's skilled AI's OK...but not a whole wing of them. I will check if I can lower the Russian AI in the squadron panel to the levels of some Average and some Veterans...while our airforce will all contain Veteran AI. Quote:

I don't think they were on Ace. Veteran maybe but their gunnery wasn't good enough for ace. When I tried to run away they usually kept missing me.

1 pass while I dive away jammed either my machine guns damaged and mostly one of my wings. and I dove away almost blacking out and he still got a good shot at me what I will do is make these I-153's and I-16's to be average or even rookie because those aircraft where no match for the BF109. and keep the others LaGG's and Migs on the level of Veteran. we'll see how that goes. and really...for the umpft..time we have to do something about our tactics HunterICX

O.K.
How about this: We build Rotten (two planes, leader and wingman) if we have enough people. The wingman follows the leader and is acting as some sort of shield for him. Enemies will either engage the wingman or will be in front of the wingman's guns once they try to attack the leader. Roles can be reversed throughout dogfights. If a Rotte should break up the wingman should try to find a new leader or engage the enemy depending on the situation. The problems with that is that: 1. It is difficult to follow someone close enough through a dogfight to engage an enemy who is trying to sneak up on the leader. 2. Loss of roughly 50% of fire power throughout the dogfight (only one plane is attacking at a time) 3. It's difficult to maintain a Rotte if you get swarmed by dozens of enemies. But we could give it a try. Second we might try to fly higher. The 109 has had an altitude performance advantage over most Soviet planes though I don't know how accurately that is implemented into Oleg's AI planes (probably not at all...). Whether this will be practical remains to be seen. I already have a hard time to stay in something that might be called a very loose formation while scanning the air for contacts. Following someone in a fight and having a look at one's six from time to time is even harder.
