My next IL-2 movie will be
About recon ace Adrian Warburton. There is a good story there as he did accomplish some mad old feats.
Will need to do a bit of research and some scenes might need some online co-op to do. It won't be nearly as polished as some of the stuff but at least it has a story. |

Good choice, one of the more interesting and unusual names of WW2, and yet relatively unknown in comparison to people like Galland, Bader, Gabrinski etc. From what I've read of him, he was a real maverick.
Look forward to seeing it. Chock

If I make a quick movie I use the Windows Movie Maker.
Are there any decent free video editing programs to download. Can't afford to splash out on a prog until I find out howgood I will be at it. The only info I have at the moment is a wikipedia entry which gives a skelton for working out the scenes. |

Here's a few free WMM alternatives, some of which are really good:
http://www.softlab-nsk.com/ddclipro/free.html http://www.zs4.net/ http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ http://www.virtualedit.net/home.htm http://www.jahshaka.org/component/op...man/Itemid,49/ If you've got a reasonably recent version of Photoshop, you can use it to animate single frames from a video for the gun shaking and stuff (only Photoshop CS2 onwards features an animation palette, but if you switch to Image Ready in earlier versions, you get the animation palette), there is a sequence in the linked movie below where you can see a shot that is purely animated in Photoshop, having been drawn in it too (it's the shot of the aircraft contrails coming together, viewed from the ground). I seem to recall I exported it as a Flash file from Image Ready and then got it back into Windows Movie Maker via Moho. Although I usually take a windows clip and do that sort of thing in Moho (which is now called Anime studio I think, I have the old version). Moho, is really handy for doing complex camera zooms and stuff, the link below shows this having been done to a shot which was a simple three frame looped animation of a still photograph, which then had the shake added in Moho (it's the scene with the engines). But you can also see this on the first link where the pilot shakes as he fires his guns in the Spifire too, the footage intitially having been done in The Movies. Incidentally, his oxygen mask was also added as a layer in Moho, since there was no prop for that in The Movies. There are quite a few low budget alternatives to Windows Movie Maker, such as Videowave, but personally I like to use it in spite of the fact that I have the pricey alternatives that are Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Affects, because WMM is simple and unfussy, and with a bit of thought it can do most things you want it to.
