If I'm down the pub then it's usually Guinness,
but at home I get this French wheat beet stuff from my local tesco's, it's very drinkable indeed.
Never say never to a good brandy or cognac though.

Absinthe mmmm must get some

Hehe, not very Aussie of me to say this, but New and VB are the worst beers on the planet, bar maybe Bud or MGD.
Carlton is a good pub beer, and Cascade is up there with Australias best. They make the best Aussie beer in Van Diemen's land. In fact the best stock beer you can get in Australia, if only because of it's price to awesomeness ratio, is Tasman bitter. Apparently it's Boag's under a different label, and only 30 bucks a slab. Only available at Coles liquorland though.

@ Takeda... thats the stuff! Franziskaner deserves to be ranked among the worlds top beers. I like Weissbier. Erdinger and Paulaner are pretty good too.

As for a good stock standard drinking beer... Becks is ok, I like the Bavarian ales such a Löwenbräu, Spaten etc...

Apart from Franziskaner, over here I drink Holsten, and when out on the town (because of it's cheapness) Astra, which I guess would be Hamburg's VB.

I support New because Its the cheapest beer to buy at the pub i frequent - and at least its drinkable unlike MB, or Tooheys Old. VB, well i drink that watchin me mates playin cricket - hard to beat a case of stubbys whilst wearing a beater and a pair of stubbies, sittin on a hill watchin cricket in the sun!

You're right about cascade, even their light is brilliant - for a light, anyway

True, true a very tasty beer.
But an other Polish beer I would like to put up on the list is Bosman.

At a time EB and Gdanskie was good.
