Default Train Fever

http://www.train-fever.com/

Looks kind of like a cross between Sims and Railroad Tycoon. Anyone else taken a look at it?

Lionclaw has it, I've been holding back until it gets a bit more polish to it, and the mods start coming out.

There's only 4 industries in it seems
If they include entire production chains like in Railroad TYcoon I'm buying

On the fence as well as OTTD has spoiled me so much with GRF's that includes very nice and detailed vehicle sets, scenery and new industries etc etc.

However Train Fever has a lot promise if the community does what a community can do best and that's bring the best out of a base game when it's open for modding. I'll jump aboard the train if that's the way this game is heading.

Sounds like one to watch and wait for some work to be done on it then. Might pick it up if Steam puts it on sale for cheap.

They need to implement a hub system.

5 small trains bringing cargo from nearby sites into one central station where it is picked up by a larger train and taken to the industrial center (there really should be industrial centers, not odd steel mills in the middle of fields)

OTTD has that in its transfer system, Hunter does that quite a lot in his mad insane spiderweb lines that are almost Roman in their straightness.

Got the steam key as a gift this weekend.

Here's my review.

+ fun to look at
+ simple gameplay
+ USA DLC means they're still working on it
+ fun challenge making all the diferent signaling and junctions when connecting many lines into one station
+ dynamic world, cities grow, goods move even without use of trains
+ terrain workarounds are a nice challenge, getting a railline over a mountain by using the tarrian to snake around with minimum slope

- crashes and bugs are a problem
- optimized like the Albanian economy
- no business model (railroad tycoon spoilt me)
- only 4 products plus passengers (railorad tycoon spoilt me)

------- and one more - the popup windows are the bane of gameplay here, it opens for every small detail and only closes with the X above it and to get one lousy train running you have to open 7 popups

Not very efficient and not very smooth running with memory leaks, lag every (game) month as the expenses are calculated and moving around is a pain

One more plus I'd want to give

+ every passenger has a destination and will use all your transports to reach it. It will board a tram, disembark on the tram stop nearest to the train station, board the train, go off the desired station, hop on the bus and ride to his destination. If you have a tram network in 2 cities, connecting them by rail will double the usage
