My CTD is back

Hopefully TDW could find my problem in the files. I have sent him a PM with a link.

Paco.

Default MEP memory errors and JSGME

Another idea to help others with MEP memory errors or JSGME issues.

"The Validator comes up with a couple of errors (Data/Land/AsianVillage) so it might be OH that's corrupt. " - This is a sh5 validator issue. But I do not believe I've had a crash yet. Could be because I have not played Monsun Gruppe yet.

I plan on sending Trevally a file list of errors in a few days. I used the SH5 validator using Open Horizons, and used the SH5 validator using 1.2 patch stock only, no mods installed. Some file errors caused crashes (Total Germany campaign.cfg in northwestern approaches comes to mind).

(Crashes were not caused by different versions and years of Visual C++ that have been stated in other posts. I was chasing Visual C++ errors stated in my event viewer that was related to SH5.exe.)

I did not use the JSGME mod validator, but I solved different mep errors that had memory errors over the years using SH3, SH4 and SH5.

Separate idea that does not cause memory errors - First have you disabled all mods and then, make sure NO files are left in the "your drive:\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\!BACKUP folder". JSGME creates the !BACKUP and !INSTLOGS.

Have you opened up the mep file in the Wordpad editor or any text editor?

Here is an example of errors. Not necessarily these mods, Both cause memory errors in JSGME.
1)Accurate German Flags
RemoveLogoIntroTheDarkWraith
DBM Background Video
sobers green spinning thing SH5
RemoveLogoIntroTheDarkWraith

Get rid of any duplicate entry. This example,RemoveLogoIntroTheDarkWraith.

2)Accurate German Flags
RemoveLogoIntroTheDarkWraith

DBM Background Video

Even though I saved the mod after I modified sober's great mod list and my other mods to my liking; somehow a space was created in the modlist. I do not remember how I saved the mod or what editor I was using. Just make sure there is no blank entries anywhere. This example, get rid of the blank line between RemoveLogoIntroTheDarkWraith and DBM Background Video.
