Nice fact about ''Pips''
Josef "Pips" Priller Josef Priller flew 1307 combat missions to claim 101 victories. All his victories were recorded over the Western Front, and consisted of 11 USAAF heavy bombers, 68 Spitfires (the highest Luftwaffe ace's tally for these aircraft),11 Hurricanes, 5 medium bombers, and 5 USAAF fighters. and ofcourse whats apotrayed in the movie ''the longest day'': Priller was a popular commander with his men, and, in spite of a reputation for talking back to his superiors HunterICX

Monday, from taskforces cockpit...
Mission 1... the lolwaffes were sent to bomb a base... I found out my bf 109 was at 50 percent fuel. which ment by the time I got to the target id have enough fuel to dogfight for a short time and RTB... When we approached the target. the spits were setting on the runway... and takeing off... we intercepted them... but some of us found how accurat the flak was... in the end only hunter and I returned to base (was lucky, got to base running on fumes.) I got 2 (should have been 3 if it want for the ai... Mission 2... We took over the airbase... after pushing the brits out of that little section of afrika... amasingly, for the first time... we didnt have the sun in are eyes, or the mist on the gound... It was are first normal Transfer mission.... no action from enemy in here... Mission 3 (The slaughterhouse...) We were sent to escort stukas, who were going to attack a task force... but we incountered a horable problem... the other pilots who were not of the lolwaffe squadron were newbies... and stood no chance agaisnt the veterans... The lolwaffes fought hard, in attempt to down the enemy... The majority of the lolwaffes were shot down... except for red max and raptor 1 with his lone stuka... (all the rest were ither badly damaged, or distroyed.) with one wheel... In a attempt to get the spitfires off him, red max managed to make 2 of them collide head on... but was only able to feel releaved for seconds when a angry brit in a spit ripped his wing off... and made him crash... But back to raptor, he managed to land a stuka in the middle of the desert with 1 wheel, without ripping it apart... we havent seen a sign of him since.... lol :rotfl: I see what schroeder was saying about that mission...

At least I managed to avenge the landing gear. In a fight of Stuka vs. Spitfire, apparently the Spit is the first to burst into flames

You where lucky that there weren't two spits on your six, then you would be in trouble! That was funny that those two spits smashed into each other while attempting to shoot me down, and I recall someone asking why the 109s don't have mirrors, there is a mirror mod for 109s but it only effects the Emils.

That's one of the reasons I like the late G-6 series (uh oh, here comes Hunter with a Luger...), there is a better view of your six over your shoulder than the early G-6 and G-2.
