Direct X killed my performance in Il2 for some reason when I was running it a couple of weeks ago.:hmm: (im gonna see if turning on extension limit in the Nvidia control panel helps.)

As for the CTD, that's propably because my IL2 runs on 1280x960 while my desktop is 1280x1024 (I know i know you can change it from conf.ini). |

The Revolution will not be televised.
No screenshots chaps because every time I tried to take one IL2 froze up completely. First mission was going well, a bit laggy but nothing too major until I tried to take a screenshot of some 110s diving on a tank column and IL2 froze up. Second mission I lead the 109s into battle, with Dowly, Fin, Task Force and Kratos following. Spotted tracers and climbed to intercept. Lost sight during the climb and then spotted what I thought was a Yak of sorts nearby, dived on it, gave it a burst of cannon up its backside and got: Task Force: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?! :hmm: Finally found some real targets, but got there far too late to shoot them down so buzzed Dowly and Task Force on the runway and played chicken with the incoming He111s before spotting something being shot at. Found out it was Manfred Von Huntski in his little Russkie biplane. We must have spotted each other about the same time as it turned into a turning match, bad move because he could turn sharper than I, so I tried to outclimb him, bad move also because it gave him a perfect rear end shot. That screwed up my oil tank and engine, so when I came back down and tried to outturn him again, he turned me into a flambé. I parachuted out, but at less than 600 ft, the parachute had just about enough time to open before I became pavement pizza. So, that left Kratos, Fin and Hunter still in the air (Raptor had sacrificed himself to the Socialist dream of bridge destruction), so Hunter levelled the odds by knocking down Kratos. Sadly both Kratos and Fin were having frame-rate issues (as was Dowly) with Hunters little biplane teleporting all over the place. The AI Bf-110s had no such issues however and gave chase to Hunter, peppering his right wing and then in a display of Lolwaffle courage, smashing into him at full speed. Which left Fin up to face the rest of the incoming fighters. |

Pings&Laggyness
Dont just stay quiet, shout for bloody sake. if the game starts to bugger up at your end and it has become unplayable give a shout on the global chatbar or teamspeak. that way I could pause and seek for a solution. I found it strange that some of you left the server after you crashed/been shot down without saying a word...I had the odd feeling something was going on. I discovered the issues at the end of the sortie, now this is aint the way fokes. I feel terrible for the lag at some people's end (strange not all suffered the bad lag) and I know my Upload speed ain't the greatest but keep in mind I cant bloody smell the problem at your end so for the next time, ring a bell so we know something is going on. remeber it cant be fixed untill we know there is a problem. I had no lag but suffered from stupidity at the start of the mission and since my jaw was aching from the dentist I bailed.
I think I did mention on red teamspeak.. I'll be up Friday for sure if there is a flight and no stupidity. |

I also had no lag in the 1st sortie, but the 2nd was pretty bad. Flying with Fincuan, I had to constantly drop my throttle down to 30% and up again to 110% because his plane was warping from being 10m away from me to 400m away from me. As we got to the combat, I had both warping and the usual "unreal" sliding I saw on the AI, so decided to RTB.
As for the pings, the 500+ is pretty much normal for me on Hunter's server, dont know why on Hunter's end it says 200+ but I recall someone else from the blue team mention high pings last night. Dont know if it's bad lines from Spain to the rest of the Europe or someone sucking up his bandwight. Hopefully everything works on on Friday, if not, maybe trying to lower down the ground unit density might help, or as a last resort, have someone else host it. |

Yeah, I took a look at the pings and a lot of them were entering 300-500 regularly. I recall we did have a problem with Leningrad before, and Moscow I think, myself and Kratos in particular. Last night I didn't have much in the way of lag, but the strange crashing on screenshot taking which I've never had before. :hmm: I'll have to fire up IL2 and go snapshotting offline, see if it still happens.

I thought it was to with the fact that in spain the telephone lines are made of string with tin cans and people named Jose and Juan every now and then to repeat the signal. :rotfl:
Obviously they were having a siesta.... |
