WARP to patrol area tutorial mod for silent hunter 4
by trool323.. WHAT THIS IS: This is my tutorial on how to warp or jump to your patrol area and bring your base with you. This is how to do it with pearl. You can however do it with any base once you've learned. This way you can return to base quick and easy kinda like the 1st SH. Silent hunter 4 has no "return to base feature" while on patrol which I have always hated about this game, so I made one so to speak. I don't know about you guys but I hate the long sail to and from my patrol area it sucks. So if your like me this little tutorial is for you. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO DO THIS: 1st I recommend downloading notepad tabs for this here -http://www.notepadtabs.com/ Its a free program. You will see why its so importain to have this in a minute. You could do this with regular notepad but it will drive you NUTS after a while. The 2nd thing to do is to start silent hunter, and start a career,or load a game while at base. Then look at your orders and see where your going. For instance lets say you have to patrol the Mariana Islands? Since you know where your going now save your game while at base then exit to windows. Now you will want to go to - "Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\ Data\Campaigns\Campaign\PatrolObjectives\Patrol Mariana Islands 01" unless you installed it somewhere else. there you will see the "Patrol Mariana Islands 01.mis" it looks like below - [MapZone 1] Name=Patrol Mariana Islands 01_Zone1 Radius=100.000000 MaxHeight=1000.000000 MinHeight=-1000.000000 Long=17359750.000000........................ Lat=2337700.000000..........................here is the numbers you will want to plug into the below files.. Height=0.000000 If you use the way above you will probably want to create a shortcut to the PatrolObjectives folder so you can just click on that with notepad plus. If you don't want to do it the above way you can find latitude and longitude numbers with the SH4 mission editor.just open it up go to file new and move the mouse around, and the latitude and longitude numbers will show up in the bottom left hand corner. This will come easy to you hardcore modders, but for you Newbs it wont. that's why I'm being detailed here. 3rd now with notepade plus Go to "Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\UPCData\UPCCampaignData" Once there locate the "Flotillas.upc" You will be editing the latitude and longitude for this file two. It look like this for pearl "DepartureDescriptionOut1= 18982000, 3670000, 242.189346" The 242 is your ship heading pay no attention unless you wish to change your heading. The DepartureDescriptionOut1 is the "leave base outside of harbor option." keep in mind I've been moving my stuff around so my numbers here the "18982000, 3670000, 242.189346" wont correspond with yours. Okay 4th with notepade plus again go to "Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Campaigns\Campaign" Once there select the US_NavalBases.mis file. It will look like this - [Unit 1] Name=Pearl Harbor Class=NavalBase Type=407 Origin=American Side=0 Commander=0 CargoExt=-1 CargoInt=-1 CfgDate=19380101 DeleteOnLastWaypoint=false DockedShip=false GameEntryDate=19380101 GameEntryTime=0 GameExitDate=19451231 GameExitTime=0 EvolveFromEntryDate=false Long=18982000.000000................. Lat=3670000.000000 ..................this is what your changing ... just the Long=18982000 and lat=3670000 leave the.000000 for both alone. These are the only two files you need to change to do this. Make sure you save your changes. Also you will want to save both files as a group afterwards. That way you can just pull them up anytime. Alright 5th your done just fire SH up, pull up your saved game before patrol, and you will be wherever you put yourself..lol. Well thats it folks, Have fun with it, trool323 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Trool323; 06-26-15 at 08:27 PM. |

This would be a viable work around to the both engines dead hard coded problem in the game. Or a "I ran out of fuel but still floating; can't I get a tow?" type of fix.
I was leaving Dutch Harbor (not my home base) when I got rammed by a patrolling DD that suddenly went ALL BACK EMERGENCY on me. I sank by the bow in shallow water. Conning tower and all aft still above water and in real life probably could have refloated with a few days heavy work over the sides but since my bow was touching the harbor floor I started the "We're taking damage" dance of death. I could have used this to simulate a patch up and return to Pearl for repair. It would be not so much of a "cheat" if you could add transit time onto the patrol. Then it wouldn't be a time warp. I bet it's possible. Just a matter of finding the right data spots. |
