Yep, the plan was to use the IL2 engine,

but at the end they decide to build one of their own.

thought, I would like to see a WW1 flightsim on the IL2 engine as it has been proven to be rock solid.

We are hearing regular stuff from Oleg maddox himself on his Forum @ 1C-games

he is releasing small updates with screenshots from time to time.
