Because it opens a door for any near-do-well to pull a stunt like this with BO and any proceeding President. If Trump can't respect the man, respect the office. Frankly, Don is making a mockery of the office. BO will come and go but the position of CinC should be respected.

Five million dollars is very large amount of money. Not just any near-do-well could afford that kind of coin. After November 6th, regardless of outcome, Obama is immune to such tactics and frankly he doesn't strike me as a guy who would give a hoot about his successors.

If I were OB i'd call his bluff. Give the big STFU to the political opposition by proving they were wrong all along (just in time for the election too) and get a real significant boost for some deserving charity. I'd make sure Trump can't claim it as a charitable gift either.

It might not change my vote but it would make me respect our President a lot more.
