Mmm...
just a question did you pick the DVD version? or is it the CD rom version to explain it DVD version contains ALL you need to play 1946 on a single installation no need for the other IL2 games. if you have the CD rom version, you must have IL2 FB+ACE+Pacific Fighters merged installed on the computer.
