I've been reading a bit on the various mods available for the game and the mod lists that are stable etc, which state a registered TDW Generic Patcher is required to use those lists, yet I also read these do not work with the steam exe due to that exe having self extracting code or something that wrecks it.
I am downloading the Gamersgate version of the game which I am hoping is able to be modded, if not, which digital download of the game should I buy? If so, happy days and here I go sinking my life in to another silent hunter career ![]() My last game played was Silent Hunter III, I skipped 4 as playing as a US captain didn't appeal to me at the time, I always viewed the submarine WW2 sim as the classic German perspective game. Anyway, I am looking forward to getting in to it again. I recall with SH3 I used to manually target ships by plotting their course over several observations and then plotting an intercept point down their path, drawing a right angle to their path to work out a firing solution, I'm a bit rusty from a few years break, but does this method still work for targeting in SH5? I enjoyed it as it felt more realistic having to work something out and plan the attack vs just having the computer plot it for me. Plus, attacking a target in torrential rain was near impossible. I believe there is a mod to make the UI more SH3 style, which I am hoping would allow the above attacking technique to work if it does not with vanilla SH5 UI. Thanks for any advice and I hope to get this up and running smoothly and be on my way. I was thinking of starting out with the list from the site below, the list that states for good immersion. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=203711 Is this still an accurate list to use today? Thanks for the help. |
