Which to buy?

As I started off with SHIII and haven't played either of the sequels I figured this was a reasonable place to ask this. In a fit of insanity (and at the time disgust at trying to get it to run on vista) I sold my copy of SHIII.

Am now regretting it and wanting a u-boat sim again but now that there are two newer sequels which version do you suggest I go for? (Was playing it modded before with rub if I remember right) SHIII is a fiver now on Amazon but has that ship sailed? =) Is it time I dragged myself onwards? =)
