Knights of the Sky... Dead?

Team Gennadich has supposedly been hard at work for the past couple of months on their World War I mod Knights of the Sky that pits you as either an Allied or German pilot using some of the most famous planes of the war to wage dogfights across the skies.

For the past 6 months, this message has been greeting those who try to enter the website:

Dear friends! We have alot of changes here, and cause of that we need to take a break in our updates for a bit. Ask your questions on our forum. Cya later!

I'm now starting to question the state of the mod. The forum offers no answers or questions to the subject, and I'm fairly sure that this mod is dying. It looked so impressive, too.

If you have any idea on what's going on and/or what the status of the mod is, then please just say it here, because I've been watching this thing for the past couple of years. For more info on it, visit the website:

Mod? It's a full-blown, stand-alone game.

I checked their (russian) forums and the devs are active there. While they're not letting on as to the state of things, they are assuring everyone that work is proceeding apace and there will be more materials released soon.

I just call it a mod because some of the modifications their making to the engine, or so they said the were making.

What engine?

Last I checked, KoS were building their own engine. They changed their mind about using the IL-2 engine a good year and a half ago...

Yep, the plan was to use the IL2 engine,

but at the end they decide to build one of their own.

thought, I would like to see a WW1 flightsim on the IL2 engine as it has been proven to be rock solid.

We are hearing regular stuff from Oleg maddox himself on his Forum @ 1C-games

he is releasing small updates with screenshots from time to time.

They were, but they were modifying it to cope with some changes they wanted to make with the game.

Haven't seen any new videos on YouTube of it yet. Watched all the ones available there.
