In their Rugby World Cup opening game today?

Personally I doubt it but would be pleased to be surprised.

Sorry . . . it'll be like US Baseball team in the Olympics . . . it'll be a slaughter.
But, Go USA!

Sorry but USA suck in Rugby, they might beat the Japanese, maybe even the irish but yeah they should stick to what they're good at, American football.

At Rugby? Are you high man?

Ireland has a strong team. And they aren't even in the same RWC group.

As to the topic question, No chance in hell. But the use of the phrase "England are too good" was dicey, I'd just say the Americans are too shyte.

I would also think that's is not a matter of the English being too good, but the USA being not good enough.

Back on topic though... I must admit I didn't even know the US had a Rugby team. How much funding does it get, is the sport covered in the National Press? Whats the coverage of the World Cup like in the US?

As someone who was made by one of his American Students to sit through the last US Superbowl at 3am, I'm intregued by the idea that the US plays a varient of American Football which does not involve stopping and starting every 20 seconds.

Well, let’s just say that I didn't know we had a Rugby team, never once seen any highlights on ANY sports channel, and know absolutely nothing about the World Cup. I would say the coverage is fairly minimal. I actually wouldn't mind watching us beat the Brits...
