Default TM 1.6 radio message question

Not been playing for long and installed TM 1.6 yesterday. When playing without any mods i used to get radio messages saying this task force in this area and this convoy in this area and so on. The message would always contain heading and speed info. Also it would place a red square in the spot where the task force/convoy was

Since using TM 1.6 i no longer seem to get any messages, aparet from the historical messages such as invasion of Bornio immenent and so on.

Should i be getting these messages still, or is this just how TM 1.6 is

Also it would be nice to know what actual mods are in TM 1.6 as i havnt been playing for long i dont really know what they all do, apart fromt eh obvious changes with graphics mods.

The range the the convoy/TF has to be from you for you to get the alert has been drastically reduced in TM 1.6.

Quote:
//contacts.cfg ->reduced important contacts range from 3500KM to 1000KM.
Add this to Tater's campaign modifications and it looks like patrols are going to be very hard indeed...

Early on the contact reports will be few and far between. It picks up.

I changed it because i was sick and tired of getting contact reports of Task forces and convoys that i had absolutly no hope or chance to intercept. I viewed such reports as a nuisance, and as spam, so i lowered the range of the report radius.

Found that to be really annoying as well
Started new Career 41 out of Manila with TM1.6 and ran into 2 Task Force, one off the north tip of Luzon and second headed from East China Sea towards Luzon and had no reports from Compac Sub as to their location. They both spawned fairly close to my sub location and was easily able to intercept both. Sank a Kongo BB in the first TF and a Taiyo Class Escort Carrier in the second, Bagged a couple of Large Merchies on way home for over 62000 tons. No problem finding contacts in Luzon Striaght., Awsome job gentlemen
