SH 5 patch 1.2 for "Gold Edition"

Hey folks, I need some help here with updating to v1.2. First, I have searched the forums for the last hour looking for a solution and no luck. When I try the gu.exe it downloads the patch, but when it tries to install it, I get a popup saying there is no SH5 installed and shuts down the installer. I did the standard install of the game C-Program files (x86)-Steam-Steamapps-common-Silent Hunter 5. I tried moving the game around to the Ubi folder but still no joy. I saw a thread about an unpacked v1.2 file but got a 404 page. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Tried all those. Still get the installer message that it can't update the game because SH5 is not installed. Funny because I've been binge playing it for a week. Eventually I'll lose interest because of all the CTD's...

Hi Uber
I do not know how steam downloads or works.
In a normal installation you do not install to the Program files x86 folder.
You install to a folder of your own choice to a drive of your own choice. The Ubisoft Game launcher only then installs in the Program files x86 folder. This allows you to update and patch the game to v1.2 as I described in my post thread tutorial and then launches Uplay.
The game is started from the SH5.exe from the main SH5 folder and this then launches Uplay automatically from the Game launcher in Program files x86 folder so you can log in.

They are the instructions that is in my tutorial but apparently for some reason this is not working for Uber Elvis which I do not understand as it should update Uplay from the old version to the new version v1.2

I would suggest under the circumstances re-installing as there may be
a corrupted file somewhere.

Thanks Berbster, I was hoping that might work. Still no joy. Moved it to SH5 folder I created, but same message. No installed game. Grrrr Ubi.

Hi Uber
Check that your applications like your SH5.exe and Ubisoft Game Launcher 32 bit icon (not the 64 bit one) are set to run as administrators.
Did you try re installing again after using a registry cleaner?
