Discord, gaming rig questions in Wolfpack

Got the game. Looks great I got Discord.

Discord works well when I am out of the game but cannot use it in game.

I hit windows button, and wolfpack gets minimized it works. As soon as I expand game it doesn’t.

I have ths PTT set. To caps lock.

Do I have to purchase a subscription to use discord? I have it free. If so then it’s a deal breaker. They can keep the game!

So overall, I went ahead and return the game. It’s a great looking game, it’s a lot of fun, but only if you have dedicated people to play with. Since I’m an immersive player, having people coming into the game and leaving the game at will just breaks it for me. Plus the fact that I have to have discord, have to have friends on steam, I already hate steam as it is. So for those you really like the game I wish you luck. It’s just not for me.

Discord is free, I would suggest using the app.

You can use the private lobby setting to prevent random guys from helping you in your sub.

Hey Neal,

I may try again later but I just had too much trouble. I have the app. I think the problem is the game is very new, people are still experimenting with all the controls trying to figure out how to use them. So it’s just breaking the fun for me right now. I’m gonna let it go for a little bit and then try again later. Thanks though. It’s really a beautiful game it looks really really fun if feels really really immersive, just right now I got a find a group of guys that I can work with exclusively.

If and when I get it (the “when“ definitely outweighing the “if”), I’d be a candidate. I’m a night simmer and play after the toddlers go to bed. I share your love for immersion and realism. I’m just so thrilled, among other things, that this sim has the only truly accurate German TDC as far as functionality, getting it is inevitable.

If I get the nerve to get the game (really concerned about my computer running it, see my thread), I would love to do a completely immersive crew with you Stanko... The only thing missing in my 100% SH5 TWOS is... other people!!! I'm all for immersion... damnit I may have to just try the game out, because I have a feeling me and you and some other people would have a great time here...

Why not see if something like Mumble or Riot.im might help you?

They might not have the same conflict.

Purchased last night - using the Discord Overlay- added friends to allow Comms as crew came aboard- we got underway, headed for patrol area and submerged.

Much thanks to SCG-Joey for leading the way for the uninitiated.

You could try fixing that by running Discord as administrator; sometimes the keybind doesn't work if another app takes priority over it.

Don't give up stanko. I get what you're saying about people joining and leaving. That's why me and my buddy (who I've played online games with for over 15 years) have our own discord channel and run private lobby. We did 2 missions last night and hit pretty much everything we shot at (80%) hits our first time out.

If you want to try it again ypu are more than welcome to team up with us for some serious (and joking) hunting.

I am all in! I plan on getting the game next week. After I kick around in there for a while Getting my feet wet Enough to be somewhat dangerous, I’ll be all in for immersive play. It’s the only way I play. Hell with a working bilge pump I may even try getting my knees wet.

I got the app on my android phone and sit it next to me while I play.
Discord is terrible. Chokes my rig and I have seen it choke many others.
The ingame voice is going to be great when it gets here.
