Default Destroyable Lifeboats

Hi all,

lately you might have noticed me resurecting new threads, this is because i recently found my SH3 disk. so sorry if what I am doing ispushing your new threads downwards.

I read in an old thread that there was going to be a newer version of the lifeboats and debris mod that had destroyable lifeboats. does this version exist?

Destoyables Lifeboats ? Do you mean that you would like to fire at these poor survivors ?

If so, let me say that if i see you in my periscope, i will send to your ugly submarine my personnal and very powerful torpedo...(its name is "kick'in ass in the water")

I never said that I would like to shoot them.

GOD im sick of people assuming things.

It would have given the game alot more choices, so basically you would have been able to play as the evil arsehole or as the good guy.

In Edward Beach´s novel "Run Silent Run Deep", the captain of fictional USS Eel (US Fleet Boat in the Pacific), destroy the lifeboats of a japanese destroyer sunk, because in some of the boat is "Bungo Pete", the captain of the destroyer. The Eel ram all the boats and destroy they, with the purpouse of kill the hard captain of the destroyer and avoiding, in this way, the survivor cap return to duty.

I don´t know if a real US skipper makes that, but the war is the hell...

Regards.

Fitzcarraldo

Edward L. Beach was a real US sub skipper, so that gives some insight into his thinking on the subject. And Dudley "Mush" Morton definitely did shoot up lifeboats, though he claimed they shot first.

I'll make jokes about murdering the poor little pixels, but it does add an interesting dimension to the game.

Given the request, I'd say it was a fair assumption.

I'm re-doing the destroyable LB's now.
I had a version but lost the files awhile back when the Notebook started acting up.
I'm also going to add the New LifeBoat I released for SH4 with new animations for it's rowers.

I see no problem with being able to Gun them down.
People play GTA and mass murder is accepted without a blink.
Don't agree? Fine.
Don't install them or just don't shoot them!

And stop shooting at the SeaGulls!
They are way more innocent then Enemy combatants.

Ooh, so you're going to make the SeaGulls destroyable now? They've tormented my U-Boat for much too long, with their droppings and noise and such.

Now we need destructable sailboats. Seeing them fall apart is far preferable to watching them soar through the air when hit by a torpedo!

Got to agree there mate, although I'd rather save Manta Rays than seagulls, those buggers thieve my chips on the beach

Best regards.
