![]() Operation Monsun Environmentally & Graphics Upgrade v300 The Operation Monsun Environmentally & Graphics Upgrade (OMEGU) is designed to provide a upgrade to the environment along with changes to the graphic elements. Also there will be upgrades to various sounds and crew voices to enhance the in game experience when operating in the Atlantic Theater of Operations (ATO). OMEGU has three mods at its core, for environment upgrades, #1 Real Environment mod install from NEW Real Environment mod, Graphics and Sound Sh3toSh4 V3_RSRDC_OM and for plotting OM_Plot_V300. Special Note: full readmes for Real Environment mod, Sh3toSh4.V3_RSRDC_OM and OM_Plot_V300 can be found in Support/OM_Readme_files directory. ----------------------------------------------------------- General Configuration There have been changes that allow user who wish to run the Stock SH4 + RSRDC + OM to also run OMEGU and take advantage of the upgrades with in the mode. There have been changes to menu.txt provide support for player who play both ATO and PTO. New / Modified Command Keys Starting with v300 there will be three different keyboard setups. Stock + added commands Stock + added commands + Multi-Key commands SH3 stock mod to support SH4 + added commands The Stock plus added commands is the default command keys when loading v300 and the other two are added on mods: OM_MultiCmd_Keys (Stock + added commands + Multi-Key commands) and OM_SH3_Command_Keys (SH3 stock + added commands). The following are the added commands to default v300 The Enter key no longer fire the torpedoes, you must now use the fire button on the periscope or on the attack map. The Enter key now sets time to normal (i.e. 1X) if TC is being used Shift X toggles the snorkel Shift R Current Weather R depth under the keel ; (Semi-colon) return to Navigators plotted course CTRL F3 - Go to Attack 2D Map CTRL B - Toggle Battle Stations CTRL R - Maximum range at current speed Shift I Identify Target ----------------------------------------- Stock + added commands + Multi-Key commands are the same as default v300 but with the following addations: Crash Dive set speed to flank, dive to assign crash depth, lower all periscopes, and lower snorkel. Periscope Depth dive to assign periscope depth, and set speed to ahead standard Surface return to surface, set speed to ahead standard, lower all periscopes, and lower snorkel. ; (Semi-colon) return to Navigators plotted course and set speed to ahead standard ----------------------------------------- SH3 stock mod to support SH4 + added commands The command key set is the original from SH3with the following changes: The Enter key now sets time to normal (i.e. 1X) if TC is being used Shift X toggles the snorkel Shift R Current Weather R depth under the keel ; (Semi-colon) return to Navigators plotted course CTRL B - Toggle Battle Stations CTRL R - Maximum range at current speed Shift I Identify Target A copy of the SH3 Keyboard layout (SH3_QRC_PG1.jpg /SH3_QRC_PG2.jpg) can be found in the under the main directory of SH4 ======================================== New Command Icons Control Room: Rise/Lower Snorkel/Radar Nav Map: Search Pattern 1 / 2 / 3 and Max Range at current speed Periscope: ID Target, Rise/Lower Snorkel/Radar Bridge: Current Weather, ID Target , Report Nearest Visual Target Deckgun: Target Nearest Warship, Target Nearest Merchant Nav/Attack Maps Smaller Stop Watch and Nav Tools In this version the speed tails are gone, ALL the ships / aircraft are now color coded gray/light black, all ships (warships and merchants) & aircraft have a square ship. The user will now have to VID (Visual ID) all tracks before they can engage them. Of note the .dds line used for the hydrophone bearing line is also use for the torpedo track Attack_2D_map, in my version there is still enough of the line left to tell were the torpedo is still going. Last, I have included metric and imperial nomograph that can be used to generate a speed solution for the ship you're tracking. Addition changes include the removal of the Ship Type and Speed information from the contact display on the Nav/Attack Maps. Further more Course information is now a numerical value vice a N/S/E/W value. These values are: N 000, 025, 045, 075, E 090, 120, 135, 160, S 180, 210, 225, 250, W270, 295, 315, 340 Estimated speed reports from sensor operators are now a numerical value vice Slow/ Medium/Fast. These values are DIW Moving at 1 to 5 Kts Moving at 5 to 10 Kts Moving at 10 to 15 kts Moving at 15 kts plus Contact ranges are now set to: Short =3000 meters Medium = 10000 meters Long = 20000 meters Contact sizes are now set to: Single Contact Min Size=1 Small Contact Min Size=3 Medium Contact Min Size=7 Large Contact Min Size=13 Attack Periscope. Uboat Have added Karamazovnew KiUB mod, and it is STRONGLY recommended that you read the KiUB Users Guide which can be found in Support\OM_Readme_files\ directory before operation the Attack periscope. Any questions about the KiUB mod, contact Karamazovnew via this thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=152590 ======== Fleet Boat Have added the TGT Dials to PK Fix that allows you to make manual enters into the TDC. For details on how this mod works go to Support\OM_Readme_files\ directory and review the TGT DIALS TO PK FIX Readme and the TGT Dials to PK Fix how to guide Uboat Emblems You can now assign historically accurate emblem to the Uboats turm. This can be done when in port. You can also add your own custom emblem if you desire, see Custom Uboat Emblems in the Support\OM_Readme_files\ directory. Special Note: This new capability can only be activated at the start of a New Career. If you are already started a career, you will not be able to add an emblem without hand editing your current campaign file. For details see Custom Uboat Emblems in the Support\OM_Readme_files\ directory. Environment The environment is based Real Environment (RE) by Kriller2 and W_clear with the following changes: Revised EnvColor_xxx.dat and SkyColors_xxx.dat Using the original EnvColor_Alt.dat from RE as a baseline, adjusted the watercolors to be more representative of the ATO, again using EnvColor_Alt.dat from RE, adjusted the watercolors for the Arctic and the Mediterranean (based on the values from my personal version of SH3). Also included is a new set of files called EnvColor_Pac.dat and SkyColors_Pac.dat The baseline environment in OMEGU is the Atlantic/Arctic and you will be able to switch between the Mediterranean and the Pacific environments using the two min-mods that come with OMEGU ( OM_Med_Env, and OM_Pac_Env). The recommendations are to switch environments based on your current area of operations. Special Note: If you're using a RSRDC + OM install, ensure that you activate the OM_Pac_Env before playing the US side. Graphics Water streams and/or diesel exhausts to U-boats IIB, IIC, IID, VIIB, VIIC, IXA, IXB, IXC, IXC40, IXD2. New Hi-Res Skins for all Type II, VII, IX and XXI New German Crew uniforms Sound From Sh3toSh4.V3_RSRDC_OM by Captain von Keldunk have added the following: German Speech ATO version of Crash Dive ATO version of Dive Alarm ATO version of Emergency Blow ATO version of Battle Stations ATO version of passing thermal layer ATO version of relieve watch ATO version of Submarine Surface ======== OM Harder Escorts OM_Harder_Escort_L1 OM_Harder_Escort_L2 OM_Harder_Escort is a mod to change the AI behavior of Convoy Escorts in OMv720. There are two versions, L1 and L2, with the only difference between the two is at L2 has modified escort hydrophones/sonar and L1 doesn't. In both cases the escorts have become more aggressive and with each passing year of the war get harder and it should also be noted that L2 can be very difficult. ================================ OMEGU v300 Patch 6 Added KiUB Also users need to review the following post for other changes http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...&postcount=313 Removed to TDC on/off from the Periscope Command Icons Command Icons OM_SH3_Command_Keys to support KiUB set the Torpedo Page to the I key Adjusted mast height for ships to equal tallest mast, the exception is the HMS Furious which uses the flight deck. Change FOV for binoculars to 72 degrees and zoom level is set to 10. Added CrewMember3D.upc to the US side to ensure that USN crew doesn't speak german Added some new revised German Speech files Added new voice files to the US side to ensure that USN crew doesn't speak German Added new "water stream fix" for the Type IX Uboats Added more voice files to the German Side by Captain von Keldunk OMEGU v300 Patch 6 Added the KiUB torpedo and TDC panels to the observation scope and UZO by Hitman Added Added ScompassMod which corrects the bridge gyrocompasses and telegraph dials for Uboats Type IIC,VIIA,VIIB,VIIC, and VIID by Sammi79 Support for OM V720 Patch 4 ---------------------------- OMEGU v300 Patch 7 Add more fixes by Sammi79 i.e. Dial fixes : - fixed Bridge dials on types : IIC,IID,VIIA,VIIB,VIIC,VIIC-41,VIIC-UFlak,VIID,IX,IXB,IXC,IXC-40,IXD2,XXI fixed minute hand on clock in sonar station on all type VIIs and all type IXs Cameras.dat changes :- fixed the 'Radar View/AScope View' on all Uboats so they function like the 'Hydrophone View' Added MechShocksPendulum camera behaviour to Hydrophone & Radar Station Views to give motion FX like in the command room. Extended the rotation range of the Hydrophone View X-axis and cut the X&Y-axis rotation speed, Radar Views have identical limits. I ended up using freecam with 0 movement values for the radar positions, for some reason it was the only way I could retain control of the rotational axis. Not being able to move the radar view may not be popular, the wheel is harder to see than the dial in the hydrophone view so, see what you think. It is easy to adjust the viewpoint position if you think it could be better placed. Special note: AOBF 16-9 Res mod is no longer required and should be removed ----------------------- Added KiUB_English Mod Replaces all labels KiUB in with English terms ------------------------ Added OMEGU_English Mod This mod restores English speech to Uboat crews for those users that don't speak German ------------------------ Credits: Akula4745 Uboat Tower Emblem (ATO) Paintkit Captain Cox Smaller Sea Plants & Smaller Sea Bed Rocks Captain von Keldunk - Sh3toSh4.V3_RSRDC_OM. Has anyone tried installing this over RFB? I love the eye candy but I prefer RFB's ship damage model. I can't decide which I'd rather have, and instead of choosing, I'd like to see if I can get both. Thoughts?

For sh3 there was a small tool which let you edit the keybindings. Is there a tool for SH4 also?
in the Kuib I sometimes have to press the update button twice. So I was thinking to make a keybind for it |

The program is called "SetKeys" and the last version is 1.3. If you use it on SH4 Command files, be careful, there are differences in the "header section" of command.cfg and your going to have to do some hand edits to ensure it works correctly.

However, if you're keen on using a keybind, make sure to give the same keybind to the "radar_toggle_sweep_focus" command. Otherwise, the Autoupdate will toggle ON/OFF but the bulb will stay the same. |

Not sure if this is a problem or not but when I unzip patch 3 it says patch 2. I have downloaded and unzipped twice with the same result.
Thx

1. You need to read the install instructions again. 2. OM uses the "same" damage model as RFB |

Excellent
![]() But I wanted to raise a point: the Uboat skins with camouflage patterns are OK, but I myself would personally prefer flat ones. The patterns currently in OM are from north atlantic uboats, and not representative of the camouflage ones (If used) in the mediterranean, arctic or tropical seas. Any chance of changing them or making additional flat ones available at last as option? What is needed to port the fantastic skins from Fubar for SH3 to OMonsoon? Thanks
