Okay, I'm a Work-in-Progess - Any Takers?
So I own about 10 different flight sims, and am most interested in Falcon 4 Allied Force, but also have LOMAC, a few iterations of MS Flight Sim, etc.
I REALLY want to get into Falcon 4, but haven't made it much past the stage of taking off, landing (and not so good there), basic maneuvering, and basic navigating in months. Every time I get my interest piqued and start reading the manual in earnest, I'm cut short because of work, or I lose interest because something just isn't clicking with me fast enough. So, this is an open request to anyone who has the time and inclination to help train a newbie to play this damned game. I want to start from scratch here and learn it all, but I'd love some help. Anyone interested? |

Is this the time of F4 revivals? I am currently on travel, but before I went off, I had started to re-engage with F4AF again, after an absence from F4 that made me seriously flying it at the times of RP3-RP4, fading during RP5, and then again SP3. I tried the Af when it was released, but the many bugs and showstoppers turned it into a non-starter for me. Three years and 12 patches later, it seems to work nice. If there are deficits, I am currently not aware of them, and certainly there are no showstoppers anymore, like flights not taking off, etc. Maybe the campaign engine has internal issues left, but that is almost impossible for me to check.
There have been massive changes in AI and cockpit complexity, for my taste, and I essentially feel like a newby flying for the first time ever, although I used to think of myself as a "veteran" several years ago. I have gotten the Aeyes widescreen cockpits for all three playable F16s, and the HiTiles. I have printed all of the 550 pages of the manual without the charts and maps. And I even had read it half-way through before I broke off few days ago. Will finish when I return. There is only one way to fully enjoy the Falcon experience, Aramike: "RTFM!" ![]() My main interest these days is SBP, but before that tank rolled along, I was a Falconeer since it was released 1998, and even since the first version for Amiga in 1987. It's simply the best of it's kind out there.
