It's not a MUST, but it helps alot. I dont have TrackIr myself, but I've learned to use my joystick's hat swtich to look around.

I'm waiting for my son in law to bring the neccessary equip. NOT trackir but going set up freetrack.....http://n.camil.chez-alice.fr/index.php. pics look a bit naff, but theres tuts somewhere.''cant put my finger on them at the moment'' and it is a lot more neater than a load of wires strapped to a baseball cap. like Dowly i use the hatswitch at the Mo. and i suck, for some reason when i put my thumb in gear to use hatswitch my co-ordination goes out the window.hence all the spins and stalls.'must be an age thing' either that learn to leave the guinness alone when flying.:hmm:

Im kiinda uncoordinated with my hatswitch. if i have pan it is sometimes comical getting back to the front. Snap view i cant get it to stop well enough to look to the sides only to the rear. Freetrack looks pretty cool.

*wistful sigh*
My dream is TrackIR, Rudder pedals, a decent Saitek HOTAs stick and a Yoke (for the bombers/passenger jets), and some 3d glasses |
