Default Which "Supermod" should I choose?

Real Fleet Boat, Fall of the Rising Sun or TMO?

Also will I need to download gramaphone/radio files seperate ?

Also how are the sounds compared to stock?

I like realism, Good sounds and a wide selection of ships/merchants/aircraft etc.

Realism is in the eye of the beholder.
The game mechanics of RFB are very realistic. That is their goal and they succeeded. It's a very good mod.

TMO on the other hand takes some liberties with pure realism but you will find that you need to play in a more realistic fashion. Also much more dangerous escort AI. I use TMO the most.

As far as eye candy goes both are very good.

Add RSRD to either and you have very a real campaign layer with all the big battles and true convoys.

Haven't played FOTRS yet.

Radio files need to be downloaded separate. They are really big so have some hard drive space.

JSGME makes swapping mods easy so you can try both or get MultiSH4 and play both at the same time.

Magic

Edit just saw your sig and we need to improve on that some, there is a war on you know.

I think I'll go with RFB first, what is RSRD? I'll probably figure it out before you reply but thanks !

Also thanks for the infos.

Actually TMO2 looks updated, so I will give that a whirl first. I've been playing Silent Hunter 3 for years. I bought the SHIV collectors edition when it came out but only recently got into it, due to reinstalling SH3 and being unable to find my disk. So I away another disk, no better time to really get into SHIV.

I have the Uboat expansion, tried a mission just seems far fetched to me and not nearly as good as SHIII so I'll stick with Amerika.

My experience with TMO so far has been GREAT. I've tried TMO with Operation Monsoon over it and did not like it a lot.

How can you play OM and TMO? OM is a standalone supermod to be used with RSRDC for American missions. TMO is incompatible with other supermods per instructions in the TMO thread's initial post.

Thank you for the advice. I am just getting back into this game after a long hiatus.
