you need to install the drivers that came with it.
Alternatively, go to the game's "setup" from its menu (programs => ubisoft => il-2 1946) and make sure it's set to recognize your stick as input. |

Make sure you use Saitek's SST programming software too so you can create a profile for your stick. I've got the wireless version of that sucker so if you have any more problems just throw them my way and I'll try to help as best I can .

If you go to your control panel, then game controllers, and find out if your joystick is in the list then click add.

I have the exact same problem with my Saitek Cyborg EVO. What I did to solve that is I went to the device manager (Start->Control Panel->Performance & maintenance->System->Hardware tab-> device manager) and looked under the Universal Serial Bus controllers. What was the case in my problem was that I had to disable the "Standard Enchanced PCI to USB Host controller". After doing that, it immediatly recognized the joystick.
Now, disabling it isnt permanent, if it doesnt work or you lose control of your e.g. keyboard, just enable it back. Hope this helps! |

Just make sure to go thru the controls, there's alot of keys that have no key assigned to them.
