winzip
Hi.Just re-installed SHIV and am trying to download mods. My problem is that when I try to unzip the file I get re-directed to Winzip site which states that my trial period has finished, so I cannot open the file. I don`t want to subscribe to winzip (I already have 7z) so how do I get round this problem? Any help most appreciated.

uninstall WinZip. Depending on which operating system you use it may have zip support built in. Or right click the file and select open with then assign 7zip to open the files.

Hi. Thanks for replying. Well, I do not have winzip installed. When I click download from Subsim, I get the box lower left of screen but cannot open with 7zip. All that happens is I get directed to winzip site saying I need to subscribe.(I have checked where I normally download files to and that is empty). So I am at a loss. Running WIN10 btw.

Try to right click on that zip icon and select save as
If that don't work you may need to send Neal a PM. |

Ok, panic over. The `save as` option came back with already having the file downloaded(it pointed to the directory it was in). So, after all that I had downloaded what I wanted without knowing it.Thanks for helping.
