Subsim game for a beginner
Hello folks!
I have just finished reading the book "Run Silent, Run Deep" and thought it was a really good book and it has sparked a new interest in submarines for me. I have Silent Hunter 3 but never really played it because I could not get it to run on my old machine. Today I have a much better computer so I was looking into what subsim would interest me the most. Would you guys recommend Silent hunter 3 for a subsim beginner or is there now newer and better subsims out there? Also my knowledge of submarines is at the moment limited to what I could learn from "Run Silent, Run Deep" and a few movies such as "Das Boot" and "The Hunt for Red October. |

For a beginner, I would not hesitate to recommend Crash Dive. If you want more of a challenge, SH5 or 4 or 3 are the standard.

Thanks for the welcome and the recommendations. I have just downloaded Crash Dive. Seems a good place to start and will keep me intertained in my spare time for the next two weeks until I go home from the Pacific.
Then I will proably pick up Silent Hunter 5 and use one of the mods since I heard the standard version is quite buggy. |
