Hi everybody
![]() I've posted in another section, this problem yet but I think maybe it's possible there is a bug caused by some mods. Why ? :hmm: Because : I haven't any massage and sound voices for "SoM_Destroyer_in_attack_run" or "SoM_Depth charges_in_the_water_sir" or "SoM_K_Ship_sinking. (These voices are present in the sound folder). But I'm not alone with the problem. Somebody have the same problem, somebody not. It's very strange then I think is not a bug of the game. On the french "Mille sabords" Forum, someone always has these voices and the messages. He play with IUB 1.03 and DasBoot Sounds. Another gamer Play with RUB1.44 and has also all the orders and messages ... then I've a question : Is it possible some mods cause this bug ? I've tried to play with German voices or English voices, English or French texts and never I've these voices and these messages. What's the problem ? I don't understand. Anyone has an idea about that ? NB : Actually, I play NYGM. But I have the same problem with GW. EDIT : I've just installed the original game without mods and I've these voices and the texts. You will probably find that some of the speech sounds have been changed to sound effects simply because you would know if it's sinking & don't need to be told, so changing this to an explosion or a 'ghasp' would be much better, some simply edit it out altogether, I certainly wouldn't worry about it! Some of the sounds aren't even used by SH3, such as "Radio room telemetry.wav".

![]() In fact, after another try, I've seen that the sound voices like 'Depth charges in the water" work in a single mission. However, I don't understand why I've never listened them in campaign, even if a destroyer attack my uboat. ![]() |

But when some voices are removed, They don't appear anymore in the sounds folder, No ? :hmm:
In addition, I don't think that remove "Depth charges in the water" or "destroyer is attacking" is more realistic ![]() If the comments "SoM_Destroyer_in_attack_run" or "SoM_Depth charges_in_the_water_sir" or "SoM_K_Ship_sinking" are removed intentionally in the campaigns, I would like to restore them. Using GW supermod, and I still have the depth charge warning, but only if the DD, or DE is close. I think the "We've been detected" warning is bit too definite, and should probably be more like They may be on to us! or Destroyer closing Sir, bearing 156, increasing speed".
And for surface running, instead of "We've been spotted", "Detroyer closing, bearing 259!" Or whatever bearing the ship is on. It would give you a chance to turn your boat and maybe launch an eel at the attacker if they are far enough out.

Best thing to do, is go through the sound files and add them manually, but back up your game's original sound file in case of mistakes. That's the best suggestion I can offer.

You may also find that the SH3.sdl file (mixer) has been modded, so you could replace with the original or edit the file with Mini Tweaker, hope this helps.

I don't find any sound files with Mini Tweaker.
Can I replace the new SH3.sdl with the original without incompatibility with NYGM ? |

In Mini Tweaker you will find the SH3.sdl file listed & this contains the mixer settings for all the sounds, just make sure you backup the sh3.sdl file first.
Note that if you remove the file the game will run with NO sounds! just mentioned as to how important/relevent this file is! ![]()

Ok, I see SH3.sdl and all sounds. But I don't see voices sounds except a "Speeh Sample.Wav.
But what I can do with this ? The problem is with missing voices and messages in campaign. I don't understand why I've these voices and texts in a single mission but why I Haven't them in campaign. May be a modification by NYGM ? I don't know but how Mini tweaker can help me for that ? |

Sorry I didn't check I thought the speech files were there as well as SFX, Just PM Der Teddy Bar, I'm sure he would be only to happy to give details of modded speech in his NYGM mods.
