Could you help allieviate worrys?

Hello,
I donated to subsim, but I'll probably have to wait until after Dec. 16 to download GWX2.0.
I was wondering what is the download process like?
1. Do you have to uncheck the mods you have enabled in JSGME?
2. I currently am running GWX1.03, patched to 1.4b, and SH3Commander... will I be able to just download and install GWX2.0?
3. What other things must you do to insure a clean download?

Thanks for any info, just reading the few posts here and there seem to be some difficulties with the download process.

You should check out the GWX homepage links in my sig... that will answer all questions you may have.

By the by GWX 2 is a full general release, not a patch.

Thanks for the quick response, Penelope.
It looks as though I'll have to delete all SH3 files from my computer, including SH3 Commander, and all of the GWX files from my computer and start anew with downloading the patches up to 1.4b, then all of the GWX files and then re-downloading SH3 Commander. Is this really the case? Right now I'm just playing GWX1.03 and SH3 Commander with no other mods except those that came with GWX, like 16km visual range.
I wish it were as simple as just downloading the GWX2.0 files.
I have an icon on my desktop that is labeled SH3, on labeled GWX, and the SH3Commander icon.
Must I uninstall everything that has anything to do with SH3 and then do a complete reinstall of everything?

Yes.. uninstall it all using add/remove programs. Then manually delete anything in the ubisoft/silenthunter3 directory. Also remove/rename the SH3 folder in MyDocuments. Remove SH3 Commander in add/remove and double check the program files and delete there if anything remains.

Do a fresh install, latest update from Ubisoft, and you are ready.. simply d/l the latest SH3 commander, the files from the GWX website for that and unzip to the correct directory and install GWX 2.

Right now I'm playing my first ever career in the spring 1944 in GWX1.03, but starting over looks good. I'm a seasoned Uboat captain

This is like waiting for Christmas. I wish I had internet at home right now, I'd be well on my way to playing as I donated a few weeks ago.

Just to clarify on this point, you dont need to do all the patches up to 1.4b....just use the 1.4b patch on a clean install of SH3.

As an alternative, you could use multiSH3 and install an additional clean install, patch it, install 2.0, and leave your original (current) game just as it is

It is extremely important that you check the files with the 'jsmd5m' programme to ensure they are okay

find 'software' in HKEY_CURRENT_USER scroll through and find ubisoft, sh3, delete them all. as i have read somewhere else make sure you have NO OTHER UBI GAMES you wish to to keep, if you have, just delete the SH3 files.

AND FOR GODS SAKE !!, TAKE YOUR TIME, READ THE MANUAL OF GWX2.0 INSTALLATION.
