I thought I'd try aiming using the WO today and I had a nice battleship in my sights, clearly seen from the side. I'd eyeball it at a AOB of 70-80 on the starboard side or there abouts. So I let the guy make his calculations to see what he comes up with and he spits out 170 on the port side. Being a kind man I laugh at his obvious joke and ask again. 170 on the port side. Mind you, I did double check in the scope and there it was, by now a nice clean AOB of 90 starboard. Third time's a charm, I guess. 170 on the port side, he tells me yet again. I ignored the guy and did my own math but they saw the torps coming but it was close.
I'm running GWX, is it possible for the WO to be that wrong? Should I just shove the guy into the torpedo tube and fire him off so he can see how wrong he was? |
