I posted this a bit of a while back:
This is from a series that aired on the local Los Angeles PBS TV station many years ago, but it is still one of the most, if not the most, remembered episodes of that series. The host, Huell Howser, taped segments on his program showcasing the little known or unusual aspects of California life and history, with a focus on Southern California, in particular. Huell retired in 2012 and passed away in 2013, but his shows, dating back more than 30 years, are still being replayed on TV in LA and still have a very wide following. This segment is a very big favorite of mine and I still go back and view it when I need a bit of a spirit boost; I still get a bit verklempt starting around the 6:55 mark... <O>
