Sorry everyone, I'm sure it's been asked and answered or somewhere in the documentation, but:
I've noticed that, even though I'm pretty close, at least close enough to identify a ship on my own... my xo won't report/mark the ship when I hit the space bar. Other times I'm incredibly far away and it pops right up! It feels really random but I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. What are the parameters I have to meet before when I hit the space bar, I get the dialog and can start entering info into the TDC? Hope my question is clear. Thanks! |

Shot in the dark, but should I have my crew at battlestations in order to have the spacebar 'mark' work consistently?
Is it an issue of range? Like I say, sometimes they're so close I could throw a rock at them but the spacebar is inoperable, and sometimes they're just faint smoke on the horizon and it works perfectly. It's frustrating when you think it's random. (I'm sure it's not random!) |

Ha! Well that makes me feel better! Maybe one of you guys can point me towards a good tutorial about getting in position? Tips and tricks on getting close enough without being detected... I've watched all of Empty Box's stuff and it taught me a whole lot, but in the name of good editing and post production, you usually catch him when he is submerged and 1500-2000 meters away from a broadside. I'd love to see something that showed me the 'boring' bits or even a couple examples written out. |

I might be having the same problem, I was able to switch targets with the spacebar and then all of the sudden, as I was trying to switch back to the first target to fire my first torpedo, I couldn't mark it with the space bar. But what does this (Did you activate the lock and unlock target and xo?) mean?
Thanks! This is with the latest Wolves of Steel Mod and no additional mods. |
