Blockade of Germany (again)

Hi all,

So having put SH5 away in the box about 2 years ago I decided to try it again. Now I have completed 'British Coastal Waters' and 'South Western Approaches'. I am having, as it appears many have, trouble with Blockade of Germany. I have read so many different posts on this and yet can't seem to find an answer to the solution. I can complete the primary objective yet can't seem to get my progress bar to increase. I am hunting and sinking AMC's (transport style ships showing as warships) and still nothing. I have not even attempted to search for the aircraft carrier yet. I apologise as I know this has been asked many times but even with all my searching I can't find a way forward to complete the Blockade of Germany mission and I want to progress with the game.

Any advise would be warmly welcome.

Hi ronin
NWA Blockade of Germany IIRC is about sinking AMC's.
These come in and go out of Loch Ewe and positioning your boat about 20km above would be a good place to find them.
Your problem with the tonnage bar, some ships count and others do not.
And do not forget the tonnage bar and campaign icons are broken anyway. so playing the stock game is a bit of a lottery.
My recollection of the aircraft carrier is in SWA mission below the south of Ireland as it heads towards Plymouth.
Highly Recommended SH5 > The Wolves Of Steel Mega Mod > Includes Optional KSDCommander And Working Enigma M4 Machine
I would recommend using the mega mod this removes the tonnage bar and campaign icons from the game and then every ship sunk counts.

Thanks for that. Just installed the MOD packages. I have a small problem though now running the game. When I fire a torpedo on an enemy ship my torpedo just goes around and around in circles. Any ideas?

I have look at a couple of posts regarding torpedos running in circles but the solutions seem to involve just copying the mod folders again and this doesn't fix the issue.

As usual, the solution is to check install instructions again and realize what did you do wrong... Generic Patcher?

Reinstalled everything and hopefully now sorted with the torpedo's. Just trying to figure out how to navigate using the map screen with the excellent Wolves of Steel mod. Can't find the correct tutorial
