Default We can relax now

Mid terms are over in the U.S.. Ebola, voter fraud, amnesty, militant islam and other boogiemen will probably never make the news much. I wonder what the next big headline to argue over will be.

It's nice to turn on the TV again, and not see an ad where the political candidate is equating his/her opponent in the race to Hitler, Lenin, Dracula, bin Laden, Freddy Krueger, or the Prince of Freaking Darkness.

$17.2 million? You call that a record? This is a record:

http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2014/...s-100-million/

I'd say $53 million (Prop. 46) and over $100 million overall for both Props. 45 & 46 kind of overshadows a puny $17.2 million dollars. Also be aware the majority of the money spent came from entities outside of the state of California. Here in California, we are pretty much used to lavish spending by outsiders in an effort to influence California voters...

I guess some study shows that negative ads work. But not from my perspective. All I heard was negative ads in our area and I did not want to vote for any of them.

Don't tell my why I should not vote for your opponent
Tell me why I should vote for you!

The problem is that many politicians can't really answer the second question.

I actually got a mailing asking me not to vote for a specific candidate because this candidate refused to respond to an NRA survey.

Really? The NRA is so full of themselves that they expect every politician to respond to their personal survey?????

And if a politician ignores their politically biased survey, this is a reason not to vote for them?

Absent of any other information, I was slightly leaning in favour of this candidate just because they ignored the NRA political office.

The NRA is politically important only because people think they are politically important. The NRA membership is less than 10% of gun owners in the US. And they don't speak for THIS gun owner.

Well I think that voting for Odin is a bad plan in US due to the hysteria the right wing Christian organisations would go for.

I dunno. Remove the helmet and the scowl, dye the hair dark, run him as Jaycee Saves and you got a new Congresscritter from the Bible Belt.
