New British £1 coin
The government is going to release a new £1 coin in 2017.
This is to combat counterfeiting, as there are as many as 45 million forgeries in circulation (3% of total currency). It will be based on the pre-decimal threepenny-bit, a 12 sided coin that went out of use in the early '70's. The good news for STEED is he can dig out his hoarde of old money, give it a quick spray paint and be rolling in cash!
