UK - OS maps change Mag North

Brits who've grown up using a map and compass correctly will have to rethink. They're getting rid of mag to grid.

Did a little trigonometry. Although the article says less than 1°. I did use 1° at 1 000 metres.

Code:
tan 1°= x/1000

x is the distance 90° to the side by being 1° off in 1000 metres.

tan 1°= 0.017455

0.017455=x/1000 => 0,017455 * 1000=(x/1000) * 1000 => 0,017455 * 1000=x

0.017455 * 1000 = 17,455 [m]

Been a loooong time since I participated in fell walking and the kind....only use a sat nav now and then only on rare occasions.

British Geographical Survey has a handy little calculator.

Saves on the maths, and lessens the headache.
