ROAR!!! is it just me or does everything not work?!

hey guys... im about ready to take this computer and ram it out my third story window :/ i dont know if this is just me or not and if it is well imma turn this box into a jigsaw puzzle shortly.... but seems no matter what i download from this website ..i get one of the following:

- Data Error
- File is currupt
- checksum errors

does anyone else have this issue?! because i can download any mod fine that isnt on this site and install it fine such as a file from mediafire or whatever... nothing by darkwraith works...those are all currupt for me...dynamic environment is jammed with errors of all kinds including both data and checksum errors...speech recognition gets a data error....SO FRUSTRATING!! many apologies guys for my rant but im quite .....unhappy....at the moment... i only get a few downloads per day on this site and ive downloaded all these mods 3 or 4 times over the past few days and i prob cant download anything else...siiighhhh.... and yes im updated to the latest version of the game... and yes i get these errors all the time trying to extract them using winrar,winzip,zipgenious,7zip.... id be very greatful for any and all help provided

Here's the process I use, if it helps:

Turn off your security suite while you download your file (that's both the firewall, and any behavioural security) - Remember to turn it back on.

Download to a specific folder - mine is on my desktop, called 'SH5 mod holding folder'.

Use 7zip to extract, and use 'extract here'.

Read the 'read me' and other docs the author provided.

Follow the directions, and install to the (Drive):\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\Mods folder (If you use JSGME, you will have created that folder).

awesome man ok ill give that a go and with any luck it will work.... however...i cant seem to get the newui mod to work either but ill try what you said and i will report back with the results...many thanks for the suggestion

AHHH HELLLL!!!! i hate the cap on here :/ turns out i reached it for today.. :/....is there any which way to have it reset on the event the downloads are all currupt?

ah well in the meantime... seems i cant get darkwraiths UI to work, it downloaded and extracted fine but it doesnt show up in the game unless im missing something here... its enabled using the mod enabler.. many thankss in advance

In this download you have done, you have to find and cut/past the NewUIs TDC 7.1.0 byTDW (wich is inside the "mod" folder of your download), in your MODS folder created by JSGME!
If you put the whole folder once unzipped like that, it won't work
There are plenty of different things in this download...

thanks for ur reply man...appreciate it... however thats exactly what i have done but it doesnt show up...i copy for the sake of arguments sake...real navigation straight to the mods folder i have in my install dir. but it just dont kick in.... but ill keep tryin for sure... just really want to get back t o playing this game ill let you know my results shortly

Its obviously something on your system , every mod i have downloaded from subsim in the last 7 years works . What operating system ?

well...i finally got TDW ui to work finally after completle reinstall of everything...twice :/ as for subsim im still having that problem with everything that i download...is either currupted...data error...checksum error...etc....but guess ill keep tryin to mash that out...guess its pretty well only me then? which is odd ca=use as i stated before..i can download and extract just fine from anything thats not subsim oh and ps sober: its windows 7

also.....this is just something i thought bout...but i read somewhere before bout accounts that just werent able to download due to spam...i wonder if im having this issue merly becuase of all the downloading of the same files ive been doing lately?

scratch that :/ ahh my god is it always this much trouble to do something simple make no wonder everyone hates ubishaft.... anyhows i assumed that tdw new ui mod worked when i loaded the main screen and saw tutorial and such.... when in actual fact this game wanted to kick me in the nads by giving me false hope.. so i load into the game and i get all kinds of crap across my screen that i cant get rid of..such as an open id book, 2 big red lines going from top to bottom of my screen in the center....all the icons for SH4...mmmm yeah think das bout it....

skrew it ive had enough for tonight im going to go to bed out of it...been messing with this now for over 5 or 6 hours :/ hopefully someone might have a nice answer for all this bs when i check this tomorrow

You need to patch the game to Ubisoft's official 1.2 version

It's best to turn Window's update off or at least to inform you when new updates are available and let you choose to download them. Just blindly letting Microsoft update your computer with anything and everything they want to throw at it will result in a dead PC. They are very good about making the general public beta testers (more like alpha testers) for their 'changes'.

I always backup my computer AND set a restore point before installing ANY window's update. You can never be too safe especially when it comes to Microsoft.
