Default [REL] U-Boot Logbook or "Kriegstagebuch" V1.0 by M4XDmG

U-Boot Logbook or "Kriegstagebuch" version 1.0 by M4XDmG

This is not actually a mod, but files to print a nice looking hard copy of logbook to use with sh5, or any u-boat simulation.

At first this logbook thing was just meant for my personal use, but then I decided to release files so others who want to log their progress with "Real" logbook won't need to create everything from scratch. I spent some time searching internet for pictures of real u-boot Kriegstagebuch and found several nice pics. My layout is based mainly on

this found from uboatarchive:

http://www.uboatarchive.net/BDUKTB.htm

and picture of real kriegstagebuch entries from keadive.gr

http://keadive.gr/historical-documents/

I added one extra row: "Jetzt Datum Uhrzeit", date and hour now, so you can log how long your war will take in realtime.

Basic filling instructions

First row: date and time in game
Second row: date and time in real life
Third row: Your course, fix, weather, sea state, speed etc.
Fourth row: Events and logs like course changes, sightings, submergings, ships sunken, hydro contacts, torpedo loadout, fuel level, batteries level etc etc... Depends on how detailed you want it to be

Some other cool looking documents from the era made me add "German Reich" emblem on the cover to add some twist. Please note, that the eagle is looking to the right from the viewer, over his left shoulder. This signifies the German Reich. If the eagle was looking left, it would signify Nazi party.

Zipfile includes printable template in Excel and Open office format, and base and example layout for front cover in JPEG.

Also included is font used in template and cover. Install it first by unzipping font folder and double clicking them both (there are two variations). The one used here is "FetteUNZFraktur".

If you want to edit cover layout, use for example free Paint.net software. Open U-bootlogcoverbase.jpg in Paint.net and add your text in different layer. Then when you are finished, add Gaussian blur with radius 1 for that layer to make your new text fit with base picture.

I can't speak german and I'm not a native english speaker, so there might be lot of mistakes!

Please comment and if you have any ideas to improve don't hesitate to post them on this thread! And ofcourse you can edit files to your own liking by your self also.

Addition: I found that Reece here on subsim has made logbook of his own using the same base I did and added eagle logo too! Here is link to his work:
