Default A confession.

Perhaps some of you wondered where I been with my "enlightening" posts.

Perhaps most of you didn't care.

I had myself checked into a rehab for an alcohol problem. I didn't kill no one with my truck thankfully. I was never that foolish.

But my last couple of months I seemed to degrade. My wife was on the brink of leaving me due to my problems. I even read some of my latter posts here and cringed. My wife (bless her soul) forgave me.

I am not going to say I am cured. It is going to be a monkey on my back my whole life.

But I wanted to apologize for my attacks on people here. I am not that kind of person, and sober, I can actually disagree without being insulting. Something I lost when the "whiskey balls" overtook me.

I wish I had a full list of specific names, so I apologize to all. There is no excuse, not even my mental issue.

I am happy to be back at home at subsim.com.

I'm sorry to hear it, and hope you're doing alright. Personally I never thought you were all that insulting. I can be worse, and I don't even drink.

At any rate, you'll be in my thoughts.

Welcome back, and I didn't think that you were that insulting or rude at all. Certainly there is far worse around here. I hope that you can get back on your feet and stay strong.

Unsulting ?? Nope
At times incoherent perhaps but never insulting.

It takes cohones to admit. I know a couple of people with problems, they actually wear it like a badge of honor. Must be a balkan thing.

Good luck

Don't know your history, but either way that's a damn brave thing to admit and do, and deserving of respect.

If you can take that step, you can stick with it - stay strong old chap.

It's good to hear you went for treatment. You owe yourself a pat on the back for that, a lot of people don't get that far.

Now you're like me, no drinking. Ever. *shrug* It's really not necessary.

soopaman2,

It takes a great deal of courage to make a post like that.

Hang in there.

Fully agree with Kap Lehmann, it's not an easy thing to do, nor to admit. Good on you for making the right decision and seeking help, sometimes the hardest thing to do is to admit to yourself that you need it.
Well done mate, and welcome back.

Wish you all the best!! When things look bleak, and they will, reach out, like you have already done. A lot of people you know are proud of the steps you are taking, so keep it going. Down the road, you'll look back and say "Why didn't I do this sooner?" That's when you'll know that it was the best decision of your life, and you can bet on it!!
