The propellers get pushed off the axis. They are near the engine room, so when the whole ship explodes, the propellers just break off. It's a real mess on those ships. FIres everywhere, water going in left and right. People screaming. The water always cold, filled with oil. High waves, in the dead of night.....horrible horrible stuff when a ship explodes.....

at its simplist, everything that can be destroyed flies off when it explodes because the "live" ship isnt there anymore for it to be mounted to so everything acts as if it itself was blown off

Can anything to be done that propellers would stay, because i prefer seeing ships with propellers on it.

I may be wrong but it seems that the propellers disappear when the ship loses the ability to move forward under its own power. Its a good indicator if you use external mode as to weather you should consider another torpedo or if you can just switch to the deck gun and finish them off.

I've noticed that even if you hit a ship in the middle, as the fires and flooding get worse, most of the time eventually the propeller will disappear.

Its not very realistic but, I don't mind. As I said its a good visual indicator that you have disabled the ship and you can look for other targets and come back to the wounded one later.

I have nothing against people wanting one thing or another, and it would be nice if the everything in the game could work the way everybody wants it to.

On the other had this to me is just like when people compain about the size of the rocks or plants in the underwater view. If somebody doesn't like it, fine. Saying it's unrealistic is what gets me going. Having an external view at all is unrealistic. Complaining about things not looking right in the unrealistic external view is silly.

Just my opinion, of course.

Its just an idea, and please don't take me wrong but you could draw some propellers on ya glass,s that way they would be there all the time...
